Yesterday I was playing Fallout 3 on the 360 and using my laptop to listen to music, browse the internet, download a few games with D2D, and chat with friends. My 360 also costs about 1/10th as much as a PC that would be able to play Fallout 3 on a comparable graphics level - and I get to play it in the living room with other people on a 42 inch screen while my wife sat next to me and fed me grapes. And my 360 never once slowed down, had to reboot, overheated, or crashed!

Just doing my part to contribute to the flame war that will inevitably come...
haha either your dumb shit that actually believes that a computer cost 10x what your xbox and still just be able to play games with same grafic as the xbox or ur just trolling. And you know what? you buy a hdmi cable for computer to tv and there you go! you can also play pc games on ur "big" 42"
Awesome. Just awesome. Thank you for proving that console gamers aren't the only ones who are 'simplified'. Idiocy doesn't have brand loyalty.

Wait, what? Why? How? WTF?
Why are you talking to PC gamers only, there are console gamers here too. Why aren't they playing their games right now? Why would i use my PC just to play games? I don't have all games ever made in my PC, to have games to play. I'm playing Deus Ex and Zombie panic lately. I'm spending only 1 - 2 hours on those games a day. I'm here because i want to.

Fine, serious reply since you decided to type like someone over the age of 8 this time around.

Xbox 360 = $199
Mid-range Gaming Desktop (no monitor) = $1999
200/2000 = 1/10

Math is fun!

Also PC games are designed with the desk relationship in mind, meaning that the text and HUD style graphics are often unreadable from the couch. Not to mention that that would mean all of my computer use would be tied to the living room, and quite frankly there are some things I do on the internet that I'd rather not have in the common area.

Also you missed the subtle hints that I was just effing with people. I have games on my consoles and my computer systems, but for new releases I prefer the ability to plug and play with the 360.

Because I'm finishing off the bottle of wine I used whilst cooking dinner for a young lady this evening and I'm about to hit the sack because I have a big day tomorrow.

Ye math is fun.
http://www.komplett.se/k/ci.aspx?sku=10180 that computer can easily play fallout 3 with better grafic then xbox360 and it cost 9.995:- Swedish kr (with a monitor, mouse, speaker) which is about $1435,55, so yeah math is fun. And if you decide to build it urself you can easily go under $1000 and still have better performance then a xbox 360

I wouldn't be here so often if Tiberium Wars and Red Alert 3 were not huge let downs. Other than that, I find the Escapist useful for news and info as well as ZP.

AcacianLeaves: Seriously, look into building your own... £500 will net a PC that will play any game better than a 360 (Including monitor, mouse, keyboard). Current exchange rate gets that as roughly $830. And if you want to overclock it too it will play games better than a top of the range pre-built one.

That said, if you do know somewhere a 360 is going for £50 let me know. :)

OT: I'm currently skiving at work. Not a hard thing to do when you are the only person in the building. :p

To load up and play a game seems like effort at this point. I'm enjoying a bit of browsing and some Hendrix. When games start having Jimi on their soundtracks, I'll play more.
Frets on fire is your friend. There are databases with fuck tons of songs. And it supports Guitar Hero guitars.
I don't really do guitar hero games. Once you have done one, you've really done them all.

OP follows stereotypes. Shouldn't you have learned about them in like grade 8?

Just because we're gamers, doesn't mean we HAVE to play it all the time. People here have lives outside of games, even if they have their social life on the computer, it's up to them.

Well that's an obvious question with an obvious answer. The moment a couple is married sex is for b'days, honeymoons and baby-making.
Don't forget make-up sex!

OT: Because the site is interesting? Is that a valid answer?

From the title I thought you meant something more along the lines of " Why the hell do you bother with PC gaming anymore?"

I could only really think of:
I hadn't really realized how badly we were getting boned till recently. Also sometimes I mmo.

I really want to fire up a game and use the in game web browser to say I am playing a game.

But I can't be arsed to play games right now as I just got home.
That's why.
