if you don't already have it, i'd get crysis. it's a really fun game. well... except the part where the story goes to buttfuck ville, then it gets stupid. still enjoyable, though .

Get your budget, go on Steam, buy up. =P At 1.45USD for S.T.A.L.K.E.R., and deals like that across the site, you've got to be able to find something.

Crysis was quite fun. It was the first game I bought when I got my new rig last year, simply to test out the graphics. I rarely finish FPS games, but I played through it multiple times. As for other games:

Mass Effect
Dragon Age: Origins
Bioshock
Neverwinter Nights 2
Far Cry 2
Fallout 3

Hells yes to this. Some of the game packs are top shelf for how much you can save on them. Granted, a lot of the games included are garbage but there's enough of them that are good such that you'll come out ahead.

You want to grab PC games? Now is the time you need to do it.

Steam Holiday Sale [http://store.steampowered.com/].

Direct2Drive End Year Sale [http://www.direct2drive.com/holiday/].

A truly ridiculous amount of games are on sale right now for as much as 80% off, but only until the end of the year (like, 2 days).

I'm not going to recommend any specifics because I don't even know the kind of games you like.

American McGee's Alice. An older game but still freaking fantastic.

That is all.

HUGE Holiday sale going on right now, it last until the 3rd so if you plan on buying games wait for the deals of the last day (and keep an eye on them) and buy what you want at crazy disounts.

My Suggestions from this sale:
"Shooter Pack" 5 really dumb but oh so fun shooters that are made to break the game with overpowered guns.
"Valve complete Pack" (chances of this going on sale are pretty damn big) if you get this thank us all later.
"Rome: Total War: Gold" get a UK based person to gift it, its less than 1.5 pound.
"Torchlight" - Best diablo Clone made by a lot of the makers of Diablo1, has steam cloud support for extra awesomeness.
"Company of Heroes: Gold" Best WW2 RTS there is and one of the best RTS campaigns I have played, you could get Tales of Valor in the deal today but it is mostly a multiplayer Expansion
"Team Fortress 2" It is in the valve pack but deserves a mention
"Mass Effect" I think this will be a daily deal soon, amazing game, if you skip all the optional stuff you do not like it is also very cinematic
"Fallout 3" Not a worthy successor to Fallout 2 (as in a true sequel, *flamesuit ready*) but a great game well worth playing, It was mis priced for 17.50 earlier this week so it might be a deal for that price later.
"Plants vs Zombies" This together with defense Grid and Immortal defense is one of the best Tower Defense games ever, and it has great humor; worth it for the almanic alone.

Morrowind/Oblivion
This. Oblivion especially. That game has endless possibilities on PC, what with the countless mods out there. Same with Fallout 3.
pity about the core gameplay, or lack thereof...

Haven't played Oblivion, have played vanilla Fallout 3. And it's awesome.
