Superb video, and I agree!
Bob was simply wrong, and so are any "experts" who claim that mobile devices will ever replace consoles or PCs. They are simply too slow, or too bulky, and have horrible input options. Then again, the PC market will never be like it was in the early 2000s, where it reigned supreme. We have to make sacrifices nowadays. The consoles are holding games back, technology wise, so I doubt any of us will get to make full use of our tiny supercomputers for anything other than Crysis. But then again, we have an amazing indie market. Just look at Minecraft! Do you guys recall how many threads there were over Christmas regarding the Steam specials? What about wonderful exclusives like STALKER or Warcraft (the RTS)? Perhaps as cloud computing becomes more widespread, traditional gaming rigs will fade, but that's a long time off. And even if that were to happen, we still have things like gog.com and Steam. The PC market is changing, but not for the worse...

You, sir, have won. I'll also reference your video as well, as there seems to be an on going console vs pc debate going on at my school, and the console fanboy is pulling facts right out of his ass, and denies any argument against him, despite all the SOLID facts and references used. Now I, of course, don't like debating with a rock, but a friend of mine apparently does, so I'll just e-mail this video to him. Thumbs up for you!
Thanks man, but in my honest opinion arguing one platform versus another is futile. I play some games on console and others on PC. It all comes down to preference. I'm mostly trying to dispel some of the myths surrounding PC gaming, and better educate people about it. Hopefully some people will consider giving it a try.

Price/performance ratio is currently quite linear, alternating between nVidia and ATI.
Doesn't really alternate now as the companies don't really alternate their release of new series of chipsets and ATI/AMD take their sweet fucking time in putting their mid-range chipsets out whereas nVidia seem to drop the *800/*80 high end on launch, then the *600/*60 midrange soon after.

I think Steam and Indie dev success on the PC is what has renewed interest in the platform from the bigger guys. This year everyone's putting special care into making their PC version properly formatted and not console ports. Look at BF3, they flat out said "the PC version will be the best version".

I'm glad you want to make people see past all the bull crap they think is true. Keep fighting the good fight!
