Well, speaking as someone who has a peanut allergy (not a potentially lethal one (yet) but an increasingly aggressive one) and is friends with someone who can be sent straight into shock just from having one touch his exposed skin, her argument is not completely invalid.

When you are diagnosed with HIV these days there are drugs that can help prevent the development of AIDS for decades, sometimes even indefinitely. There is no equivalent for a fatal allergy. There are treatments to save your life if you go into shock but no way of preventing the shock in the first place. Also, (in the UK at least) they don't give you a prescription for the right treatment until you've had a shock and proved you need it. So you're basically risking your life right there.
HIV is also easy to prevent in the first place in most cases, so long as you practice safe sex and don't use intravenous drugs. There's no way of stopping yourself being born with, or developing a serious allergy, and if it's an allergy to something as commonplace as peanuts, let alone many kinds of nuts, it's very hard indeed to prevent yourself from ever coming into contact with them.

Also, from an intelligence standpoint, if you are unable to get into a normal college, I don't know how you graduated high school. My local college has an average SAT score of 900, I know someone with an SAT score of 700 who got in. You are given an automatic 400 points on the SAT for not answering a single question. College (real) is not for the "super intelligent" and the "well off," it can be attended by anyone who actually tries to get in and pay for it.
The difference between community colleges and normal colleges is that community colleges offer primarily (or only) two year degrees, where as normal colleges offer four year degrees and often programs for graduates.
The difference is how much education the attendee requires for their chosen field of study.
To claim the difference of the two is only intelligence level or price is like claiming that is the only difference between high school and universities. It may be A difference, but it is not THE difference.
The "less well off" can often get financial aid scholarships much more easily, there are absurdly cheap REAL colleges, many students pay their own way through college with a part time job.Saelune said:

I'm not really offended by peoples stupidity anymore. But as to the title of this thread, I would like to point out that you can't give you're lover a peanut allergy.
And I actually agree with her comment about the one-armed guy. yes, it's a handicap and you deserve privileges, a shorter walk isn't one of them. My friend always throws out his handicap parking thing. It pisses him off. He's like: Yeah, i can't see anything out of my left eye, but I can walk across a parking lot just fine thanks.

She hates "Glorifing" Troops. Those guys give their lives to protect the way of life of greedy polotitions. They deserve every ounce of respect we can give them. They take bullets for us, literally. They are the ones brave enough to go out there, so we don't have to.
