Seriously the chicken has basically evolved to be tasty and defenceless, its like nature wants us to eat it, and who am I to argue with nature.
Are you serious? People can't fly and we are next to defenseless. Our adaption to our survival is to build our own society. If you were taken from it you couldn't do squat. You couldn't build a cable, you couldn't make a machine. There would be no door handle to open or anyone to save you. We have no camouflage nor poison or anything!

Plus, the argument: They can't fly. We can. They can't open doorhandles. We can. is flawed as well. What about Sharks. They can't fly or open doors but people regard them as a much feared predator.

What?! How is this funny or make any sense?!

Survival of the fittest. They could not live without us raising them on farms, they are only kept around by us in order to get eggs and meat off them.
Also, again, let me quote: 'Because they are not in their natural environment!' They are animals from the Middle East or Africa (I couldn't work it out) so putting them where you are is a death sentence. They haven't been able to cope or adapt with whatever new environment they are in because we are holding them back.
Horses are great creatures, but if considered a delicacy in some snowy plane, would you call them stupid because they can't adapt outside our farms where in the rest of the world they thrive?

1 people CAN fly because we have airplanes.

2 people CAN defend themselves with guns.

Chickens are not smart enough to use or come up with technology.

3 sharks are a feared predator, but they are also stupid.

4 If you take a domesticated chicken and release it into the wilds anywhere on earth they cannot survive.

1: People can't fly. Planes can. We can sit on the planes, but we cannot fly. In your theory, chickens can also then fly if they sit on a plane. Wait, they can't use technology? Neither can you. I doubt you could build a plane.

2: See above. Without guns, we are nothing. We have no survival method aside from punching and kicking, and the majority of us wouldn't be able to benefit from that if cornered.

3: Bwahahahaha! Really? In what way would you describe something as 'stupid' anyway? They do everything to keep themselves alive. They can smell, through millions of different molecules from miles away, a drop of blood or sweat or urine from an animal. Do they need to know maths or do they need to know how to work out atomic physics if it would not help their survival? No. Then why are they stupid? Their power in the areas they accell at makes them far from how you would describe them.

4: Really? I doubt that very hard. Show me hard evidence that they would. To not be able to survive in the habitat that they came from is self destructive and no creature is able to do that.

1 technology is a testament to the intelligence of man.

2 there is no way chickens could get out guns from us.

3 sharks ARE stupid, the only eat, swim and make little sharks they have very little in the way of thought. Their simplicity is a factor in their evolutionary success. Not like the fail that is chickens.

4 Prove to me then that domesticated chickens could survive.

Is it just me or has PETA royally screwed themselves over. For once they have a legitimate point, but their previous crusades have ended so terribly that even with a good point, they can't be taken seriously. On the 10th page I doubt I'll be listened to but really, read the god-damned website it actually makes sense beneath all its shock stunt bullshit.

I think it's time PETA took a little vacation don't you think? I hear Afghanastan and Iraq are nice this time of year. =)
And the best part we'll make it all expenses paid. =)

You ignored my points and then quoted my argument against me. I can't see this argument going anywhere now. Please realize, humans are not apt for survival anymore. My point, we would be less than chickens. At least thy know how and what to eat where if I was in the forest without any help, I would be screwed. So would you, so would most people.

I did not ignore your points. I only stated facts.

A chicken cannot use a gun or tools, we can. That makes us better.

We are dept for survival with the proper supplies. You can't take our tools away from us because WE invented them. That would be the same as cutting a chickens beak, talons and feathers off. Our tools are just as natural to us, it is part of our evolution.

Chickens do NOT know how to eat in the wild, the first poison berry or venomous insect kills them.

Not true of us humans, we know how to use medicine and whatnot.

Yes we can fly, ever heard of Airplanes? We have adapted as a creature which works within a social environment saying "you wouldn't survive outside society" is like saying a fish can't survive in water, its true but its unlikely to happen as we have evolved to stay inside society. Though if I were to be separated I do have a human mind that is the most evolved in the animal kingdom, I could create tools and traps to kill/flee from anything that posed a threat, hell even sharpening a big rock would put me a step up on hundreds of animals.

Also the shark thing, who regards sharks as a threat? They rarely kill people and you can defeat them by just stepping out of the water. No its dolphins you wanna look out for those little bastards will try and kill/torture or rape you because there intelligent, also after watching flipper I have reason to believe they may be able to achieve flight.

I can't help but feel that their Head of campaigns is actually a secret meat eater, and is trying to take PETA down from the inside.

I still don't understand both your points George144 and Ninja_X. Did you gather the point I was talking about a single person? A person in its natural form. Planes are unnatural and so are guns. You cannot build a gun nor can you fly a plane. You really think you could trap animals and work out venomous insects from edible ones?
Society provides us with factory made weapons, specially trained people, food, water, everything is provided for us. Why do we need skills to know how to survive? Outside of society, we're royally screwed. I only know how to slow poison in my blood using a stick. If I were n a desert, I'd be screwed then as well. We can't survive. Chickens however, in their natural habitat can survive. They have knowledge of food, as well as a structured body to eat and to keep themselves at a desired temperature. Put them in a foreign environment and they will die. Like my horse argument from before.

Really, this is all knowledge and simple facts. You guys keep bringing in factors that were not the arguing point. He said that how do you know chickens are more stupid then people. A single human vs a single chicken. No unnatural factors provided.

And [HEADING=2]NO![/HEADING] People can't fly. Where's my wings? How do I gain this ability to levitate? Cause I wish I could. Everyday. Planes are not people.

I do kinda feel bad for those chickens...They didn't really choose to be defenseless animals that are made into food...If McD could find a better way to kill them that wouldn't cause any delay in shipping the chicken or cost more, they should go for it. Though again, it probably isn't as bad as they are making it out to be and the chicken tastes pretty damn good!

Ya, it would cost McDonald's NOTHING to make their suppliers switch. Prove it, PETA.

That's how chickens have been prepared forever. They get their head chopped off. (I assume they are trying to let the blood drip out while hanging down.) It's a fucking BIRD! A BIRD, PETA! IT DOESN'T HAVE A SOUL (assuming humans do.) WHY THE FUCK DO YOU NEVER CARE WHEN A FUCKING HUMAN BEING IS KILLED, BUT IF ONE OF YOUR CUTE LITTLE animals is, you get your tampons in a knot?! (Sorry, but not even PETA can make me spam caps lock for a long period of time.) Why are you not PETP (people), or PETE (everything)? It's a bird that doesn't know up from down, and it sickens you that they are treated like the product they were born to become! You have to go as far as insult something as wholesome and traditional (and brilliant in marketing) as the Happy Meal, all for birds who have no idea what PETA even is (or who they are fattening up.)

PETA: The one thing we all can agree upon hating. That and Hannah Montana, Disney, the Jonas Brothers, and Twilight.
A man after my own heart. Personally, I think that PETA, and anyone who starts preaching vegetarianism instead of just eating their fucking vegetables are idiots who have no real understanding of life. If pigs were not eaten, they would be endangered. They would be driven out of the country as barbarous psychotic animals that eat anything they could get their mouths around. No one would mourn their passing, just as no one stands outside with a placard saying 'Bring Back Wolves!'

Few points:
-You're bringing religion into this when it is unneeded. The whole 'humans have souls and animals don't' thing is very much a Christian belief and I don't agree with it at all.
-The PETE thing is also stupid for two reasons. 1) People are animals and thus PETA aren't about to love chickens more then people or visa versa. So what your saying is essentially true. 2) It's an animal rights group. What do you think they'll be protesting for? Rocks? I don't understand when people complain that PETA loves animals when YES, it's what they're about. You'd have to be an idiot to take them up on that point.

They're moreso protesting against the use of these farms which is honorable. There are better facilities that have a more humane way or raising animals and not keeping them battery caged. Plus, they are only bringing awareness to what's happening.
It's your choice whatever goes on your plate. No one can stop you. No one can say otherwise. But at least keep an open mind about these things. You're just as bad as a child sticking his fingers in his ears and singing 'LALALALA'.

My problem with PETA (apart from the acting like idiots), is that there are far more noble goals than improving animal lives. Trying to constantly improve the lives of animals when the workers (at least in America) are working in conditions that probably violate human rights! Yes, animals shouldn't be practically tortured, but all the effort that PETA put into their insane messages could be put into improving the lives of people. I don't see it as sane that we should care about chickens, pigs and turkeys (who drown themselves in puddles when it rains), when over a billion people are living miserable lives trying to feed themselves and their families. Trying to help alliviate poverty and lessen the death-grip corporations have on the third world, as well as trying to help the victims of countless wars and genocides, seems a far better suggestion than making ripoffs of Cooking Mama.

A lot of their messages are done in satire. Only people with blind hatred for them seem to mistake that. For example, they once attacked an icecream company saying that cow milk is for baby cows and that they should use human milk. They didn't mean, 'use human milk' but rather bring awareness to the cow calfs who do not get their mothers milk due to companies taking it from them.
Also, PETA, get this, it's kind of a doozy, PETA is an animal rights group. They will protest for animal rights. Why would they be helping victims of genocide. Oh wait, everyone should be doing that right? So that Xbox fan club protesting that games don't make people violent should shut the fuck up and go save some children in Africa. Am I right? I'm having a hard time understanding what you mean.

Also, read PETA's guidelines. I find them admirable and I do hope that battery farming and many things that PETA work against can be abolished. It is horrible and inhumane and I don't understand why people are so against it.

Interesting how this thread turned into discussion whetever chickens are as smart as people are..

Just because someone is weaker or stupider than you, doesn't mean to me that you have the right to treat them like shit their entire life or even torture them. There's a reason why I'm a vegeterian.

But obviously, if you wanna' eat meat - eat meat! I won't stop you.

I don't like P.E.T.A because they violently oppose medical research conducted on animals and have connections with violent animal rights groups - which is just wrong..

On this advertisement in particular though, I'm just going to quote, much easier:
