PETA Dumps on Battlefield 3

I particularly like the wording:
"[Google-translated statement [http://www.amazon.com/Battlefield-3-Xbox-360/dp/B003O6G5TW/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&qid=1320705083&sr=8-1].
It's one of the (many, many) QTEs - if you don't stab the rat you die and can't progress in the game. So it's not really an option, is it?

Also PETA, let me get this straight - the simulated killing of hundreds of people ok, the simulated killing of one rat (who started the fight in the first place, dammit!) bad? Wow, solid priorities there.

People Eat Tasty Animals.

Rats cause more harm than good to other animals. Here, in New Zealand, our Department of Conservation has become so good at exterminating them from entire islands, to convert them into sanctuaries for native wildlife, that they have been sought out to consult similar organisations in other countries to achieve the same results.

PETA are whiny bitches that need to realise that not all animals are equal. It sounds cruel but in some cases it is just the truth. Not to mention it's just a bloody video game.

Hey, PETA, I'm punching an imaginary, invisible kitten right now. What are you going to do about it?

Two words: The Plauge.
Yeah, caused by the fleas in RATS.
Rats can go die in a fire, and we'd be all the better for it.

Oh, yeah, that's right. PETA doesn't care about people.
And juvenile diabetes advocacy groups don't care about spousal abuse? There are already institutions in place that deal with humans who victimize other humans. PETA's got its own mandate. The institution is built to campaign for animal rights.

The ACLU does its thing.
MADD does its thing.
The frigging NRA does its thing.

Why do we have to act retarded when it comes to PETA?
The only ones acting retarded are PETA because they don't actually do anything productive or relevant. This is one of the many cases where they rally over a non-issue and make their cause look progressively worse. Any news on PETA's activities generally points out the nutjob side of their operations, and if that's "doing its thing," then they're failing. Miserably.

RachaelHill and all others who point out that flaw in the PETA mentality have a valid point; there is absolutely no reason why they should prioritize animals over human beings - hell, we are animals, which makes them look extra hypocritical to not at least use equal terms and consideration. As far as basic instincts, it doesn't get much more mental than that until we see their own practices where they countervail their own animal protection "efforts" at every turn (see euthanizing).

Or to condense the point: PETA's PR department could use a lesson from Bobby-f***ing-Kotick.

PETA can suck my boaby. I (and the overwhelming majority of the sane population of this planet) don't like people abusing animals either but a line has to be drawn somewhere. What's next? Calling for Batman: Arkaham City to be banned because you can summon a colony of bats to do your bidding and not paying them a fair wage?

Whaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaa.............? You think that an FPS could incite kids to mimic it, yet your more worried about someone stabbing a rat than massacring millions of people.

Oh for fuck's sake PETA, don't you have anything better to do? I guess making offensive ad campaings and killing every animal that gets dropped off to you just isn't time consuming enough is it?

Besides, those rats have to answer for the Black Death.

Can ya make yer choppa first choppier?

OT: We must prevent the death of hundreds of thousands rats somehow! And that noble soul who stole a truck full Modern Warfare 3 in France, did the right thing! He prevented even MORE senseless digital animal slaughter!

I got a chum who is a pranoid schizophrenic and she left PETA because they were "too crazy." PETA are nothing more than a marketing tool for any new product that ships out of anywhere now.

Perhaps they should be spending more time with the RSPCA or ASPCA or something rather than giving free publicity to their enemies.

Bleedin' eejits.

I want them to repeat their statement after they catch a disease from a rat. Makes me reflect on that one South Park episode where they have sex with animals.

I love PETA, they are comedy gold. Also makes their cause for better treatment of animals a complete joke when they go after pretend animals in games. Who can take them seriously when they are serious?

I was quoting South Park. >.< I'll refer you to my actual feelings in the part of my post you didn't pay attention to for some reason. I happen to really like rats, and think rat poisons and traps are extremely inhumane. I'd like to see the animal rights group doing something about that instead of making a fuss about things that aren't real. However we all know at this point all PETA really wants is attention. The sad thing is they would have plenty of moral ground to stand on if they stopped acting like a bunch of morons.
