How do they know it's not just a costume that happens to look like a Tanuki? Are all the kids on Halloween animal abusers as well?

OH MY GOD THAT TODDLER SKINNED BIG BIRD

Really, PETA? REALLY? It's Mario. It's just a power up.
Side note - Didn't catch it in Mario 3, along with the Frog Suit, huh? For that matter, why the silence over the penguin suit in NSMB Wii? If you're gonna raise an issue, do the bloody research.

So rather than actually work towards getting rights for animals they chose to play video games and look for signs of animal abuse that aren't there. Good job PETA, really inspirational stuff.
Is your job to play video games?

As a followup to that, if it isn't, then why do you play them?

And the really sad story here is how bad the game is.
He isn't saying it is weird for them to play video games, he is saying it is weird for them to to play them seemingly for the sole purpose of finding baseless animal rights violations
She :p and I also meant that rather than pursue things that would actually help animals they choose to get outraged at something in a game which is meaningless because it doesn't affect real animals in any way.

The game is sure to delight children everywhere right up until Nintendo's lawyers get wind of it.

Have you emailed it to Nintendo's Law department yet?

I am just saying I would like to see lawyers used for good. Like Mauling PETA in Court. I am board and would pay to watch that court case.

It's taken them well over 20 years to attack Mario for the Tanooki suit? Fuck sake, these people are on par with the Westburo Baptist Church in terms of "taking the piss out on everything"

Do they know Cabela releases hunting games yearly.

OT: Oh no, I, just like the rest of the gaming community, am outraged and completely aware of their cause. I will now go and alert all of my friends so they can be just as outraged and aware.

I'm amazed at how late this is. Like really?

I imagine that someone at PETA was like "We haven't been making asses out of ourselves enough lately. Hmmm, let's just look back on this file of popular things we should flip a shit about. Ah, here's one."

EDIT: Also, this game sucked. There weren't enough giant raccoon testicles.

I'm becoming convinced that PETA is an evil conspiracy meant to ridicule animal rights activism.

Why don't they jump on the frog suit too? Is it because it's a cartoony depiction of an animal and resembles a Halloween costume so much that it couldn't possibly be real? Well...

Eh, gonna play devils advocate and defend PETA here. Fair enough, nothing says Mario brutally kills Tanooki Racoons and wear their skin (it's actually MORE plausable in this game that "a wizard did it". It's a Mario-game, ffs. He's a fat italian plummer with a pedostasch that dating a princess, it's already unrealistic enough as it is), but what PETA is trying to point out is that Fur Is Murder. And while Mario Doesn't Wear Fur, they probably won't to point out that people IRL do kill these Tanooki-racoons for their fur, and that by Marios association, these furs IRL might be more socially acceptable. Or some similar logic.
PETA might be severely retarded, but breeding animals in small, tight cages to wear their skin isn't very ethical (in my mind) either.

Really? Just, really? Why are you people so fucking stupid? God, this is exactly why I can't take you even a little bit serious. Fuck, just, *sigh*. -_-

This just in: PETA also has plans to pursue further legal action against Nintendo on behalf of the Raving Rabbids for abuses suffered at the hands of many gamers as prompted by Nintendo.

PETA is also looking to sue the creators of Oddworld: Stranger's Wrath because on account of the crossbow that fires spiders and squirrels.

If someone makes a hunting game where all the animals had the heads of PETA execs, would they object on personal grounds or on behalf of the animals?
