PETA Unveils Anti-Seal Hunt Game

I honestly didn't think Canada would be the kind of country to have a freaking annual Seal Hunt. I'm actually pretty disappointed about that.

Honestly? As much as I'm against seal clubbing and seal hunting,

Why? Seals are just animals like bears and deers, so long as you make good use of the meat and fur and don't just kill them for no reason i fail to see what the problem is.

Killing for profit. They are not cows you breed or sheep, you are killing wild animals and it may very well lead to extinction.

By that argument killing beers and deers is also bad, they are not bread in large numbers like sheep's or chicken but people still hunt them and sell there meat and fur for profit. Oh! And the whole "it may very well lead to extinction" claim is a load total bullshit. So long as the hunting doesn't go overboard (and it is not as far as i can see) any claims that it might lead to the end of the species are baseless.

In the end, it pretty much just boils down to this:

Hunter kills animal and makes good use of it's parts (meat, fur, etc) and makes sure that the amount of hunting is controlled to ensure species survival= ok

Hunter kills for fun, or doesn't use the dead animals parts properly (like killing a animal only for the sake of getting the teeth or something) while making zero effort to insure that the species won't go extinct= bad

With this, I agree. Everything's got to have some limits.

Man, I hate animal cruelty and do think animals shouldn't be hunted for sport (because there is really no point to hunt, people hunted for food and we don't need that anymore, we just go to the store and buy food, why kill something for no reason?) but I swear PETA makes me want to throw a sack of puppies in a river.
