The LOTR series was easily the most well-made series ever made. The Hobit should be no different. I'm excited.

I found the LOTR movies fantastic, and the books to be let-downs.

So, I'm looking forward to this. Those sets are sexy...
My thoughts exactly.

I'm so looking forward to the movie, and thus won't watch these videos until after I see it.

Indeed! Seeing him [Ian Mckellen]in that clip just made me smile.

And the music. I need to watch the Lord of the Rings trilogy again.

Edit: Wops, wrong quote. Sorry about that.

Massive squee when I saw Ian McKellen! Also, I love Peter Jackson's accent, and I'm so fucking excited for this film! Nearly a decade after the LotR stuff, and we're at it again!

Anyway, I'm really glad that they're making these blogs, because I want to see every single part of this film inside out :D

Awesome, I've waited far too long for another LOTR movie. Here's to hoping it turns out incredible.

I just hope they keep Weta Workshop doing what they did so well: creating CGI, props, animatronics, AND miniatures that they used in combination to make one of the greatest fantasy epics of all time.

EDIT: So I just watched it and... oh geez, nerdgasms galore. It reminded me so much of watching the appendices of the last films. This is gonna be amazing.

Great to see Sir Pete back in his element. Del Toro would have brought great things to the table no doubt but Middle Earth is about as much Jackson's as it is Tolkien's now.

Should we be concerned about his banter with Sir Ian though?

Sir Pete: "...It's all going to go incredibly well on the day... don't you think?"
*long pause*
Sir Ian: [slowly leans forward] "... um..."
Sir Pete: [concerned look]

:D

Wow. That is the coolest thing I have seen in a long time. Everyone involved is having WAY too much fun there.

Shamus Young! Get ready for another DM of the Rings! That was what originally brought me to the escapist and I expect a sequel!

The thing I appreciated the most about the Lord of the Rings movies was the massive, massive, massive amount of interviews and behind the scenes stuff that was included on the extended DVDs. It's almost better than the movies. Totally worth watching all 60 hours of it :p

this...this is so bloody awesome! oh my gosh

I missed the early hype when the first Lord of the Rings came out (caught it at the end)

seriously! (but heck, I was much younger 10 years ago...) can't wait :D videos like this just tickle my fancy, since I grew up wanting to be a movie director xD

No 3d, NOOOO 333333 DDDDDDDDD! I wanna pay for a regular fricken ticket when it comes out in two-three hundred years! (well that is what it's going to feel like)

EDIT: At least make both, not just 3D like some do.

Wow, I am pretty stoked about this. Hard to believe it's already been a decade since FotR came out.

This video made me feel a way I haven't felt in a long time...I honestly can't even describe what that feeling is.

I did feel transported back to my younger self watching the films in the theater and when that music kicked in....this was perfection. Fingers crossed the film lives up to all of this hype!
