I loved this game, if anything for the interesting squad tactics that were present in a few games of that era, I can't remember titles off my head right now though, but some of them included the turn-based combat featured by X-COm and Jagged Alliance, and also the earlier Fallouts.

So if it could be done successfully, I'd love to see it, or even the whole squad tactics overhead genre make a comeback. Don't really care who's behind it, as long as they don't bodge it up...

Syndicate? Magic Carpet?! They won't allow GoG.com to put Dungeon Keeper or Theme Hospital so we can play these much demanded games and they go for Populace remakes?!?! Don't get me wrong, I both love and own all these titles still but I can't play them anymore for want of a machine old enough to run em.

I'd settle for GoG releases but I'd probably invest in a Theme Hospital update with current gen tech.

Screw Syndicate, give me Dungeon Keeper 3 already!

Damnit, the second game has a trailer and everything!

I WANT IT! I WANT IT NOW!
Agreed, bring back the Dungeon Keeper! Such a great game, creative concept and all...shame to lose all that to time. Hell, the whole point was to mock the monotony of the game plots at the time, not like it isn't still relevant.

As cool as it was when I was a kid cyberpunk just doesn't work anymore.

Our reality has passed the made up future of the sci fi writers. We carry phones with powerful computers connected to a worldwide network in our pockets, cars all have navigation systems, cameras take our pictures when we speed and send us tickets. There are 3d printers, and a commodity piece of hardware gives everyone a motion capture studio in the house. The world is run by giant evil corporations but the can't be too evil because that would distract from the core mission of maximizing the hooker and blow supply for the executives and board members.

Just about the only thing we are missing is stim packs.

That said Syndicate 1 and 2 were about the awesomest games that were ever made almost fully destructible environments, rpg elements, and just a load of fun. Everyone playing them remembers clicking both buttons to juice up all the drugs and murdering the world. I'm not sure they need a full fledged sequel or reboot but an xbla and pc remake a la bionic commando rearmed would be tight.

Syndicate 1 and 2 were awesome games back in the day. On the other hand... Why did you sell your studio to EA Pete?!? I think it's fitting punishment they ignore your ass on this one. No matter how much anyone tries, it won't match the experience from back in the day, even Pete over there. Also, there are other games they should consider, such as Dungeon Keeper. A lot more people know about that than Syndicate.

Syndicate was brilliant, and I'm always happy for more cyberpunk games. However, considering the state of mondern gaming the more profitable choice - which is usually that which companies opt for - is a shooter. While this may make a brilliant game, it wont quite be the same Syndicate.

This sounds a bit iffy to me. It all really depends on whether you can plant trees. Then I would buy it for sure!

Heh, I mentioned this game in a post yesterday; I guess my nostalgia floated through the interweb and pinged a revival re-notification.

Seriously now, I bloody loved this game (the only game with Syndicate in its title, the only one!!!) but I can't see it being brought back as anything but an FPS or TPS with the strong possibility of having to rely on AI teammates. And, I'm going to be brief here, FUCK THAT!

Edit: It might work as a sort of LFD rip off, assuming they're keeping the squad based nature. That'd be a recipe for success I think, I wouldn't buy it because I hate LFD but it would probably sell very well.

Syndicate was a very cool game, I'd be one gamer very interested in a remake of it.

And, yes, yet again - DUNGEON KEEPER! (the original, please)

Molyneux said that he was sure that EA would do a good job with any remake...
Christ. Maybe Molyneux really is mad if he thinks that.
What else do expect a former vice president of EA to say?
I dunno..."Satan will be skating to work now" would be about as believable.
Then again, EA does an okay job at remaking old Madden titles.
