Well i reckon Dawn of War II is kinda like Syndicates spiritual successor, so if the new Syndicate is anything like that, i'll be a very happy man.

Why not just make a completely new tactical game with economic elements?

Sure Syndicate was good, it was no X-Com but good nevertheless. I just think remaking it may end up being more of a limit than an advantage.

I think EA should listen to Mr. Molineaux, mainly because there was something very special about bullfrog games, the way they always aimed at giving us diferent gameplay experiences. I have most of them, including Genewars.
Bullfrog games, X-Com and emulators are the only things I play outside a console these days.

Brought to you by Peter Molyneux, this re-imagined Syndicate experience will not only cure cancer, but salvage every inch of your nostalgia for a title you've never heard of.
Well of course you haven't heard of it, you were a toddler when it was released.

OT: This could be awesome! From way back when Molyneux was making good games! I'd love to see a modern remake of Populous too. I wonder if there's any chance of Dungeon Keeper being revisited, the last great game Bullfrog ever released.

Screw Syndicate, give me Dungeon Keeper 3 already!

Damnit, the second game has a trailer and everything!

I WANT IT! I WANT IT NOW!
Not gonna happen. EA sold the rights to Dungeon Keeper to a Korean cookie cutter mmo maker.

Syndicate was a fantastic premise. :) I've LONG forgotten what the game play was like, but I seem to remember thinking "Shadowrun." But I don't know if that was me projecting what was then a current gaming fave of mine.

Let's not forget that the real creator/director of Syndicate is one of ex-Bullfrog wonderkid Sean Cooper (with big help from Glenn Corpes who helped making Bullfrog games the technical marvel they used to be) who made the game during his spare time after contributing to Populous extensions.

He now works under his own flag : http://games.seantcooper.com/boxhead_nightmare

This is what makes Peter Molyneux as a studio director truly valuable : letting people express their creativity once their homework are done (Populous extensions, PowerMonger) hence Magic Carpet, Syndicate, The Movies, etc.
