Don't worry. This is being made in Japan, so it has a pretty good chance of being great, as opposed to Hollywood which would screw everything up.
No...just add a bunch of unneeded love stories and otaku moments >w<

I'm not optimistic no matter who makes it, unless it's die hard fans willing to keep the characters from branching out into hypothetical "fanservices" (Note: Loved the independent mega-man movie)

It's awesome that it's getting the adaptation treatment, but I think that realistically they'll only cover cases 2 & 4, or just case 4 and condense all the necessary back story into those, other wise this film'd run on far too long.I'm not boned up on Japanese cinema, but I know they have a decent track record on adaptations, like with Battle Royale and Death Note.

If there's not gratuitous amounts of yelling, I will be extremely disappoint. And in a way, I'm kind of glad it's a more action-oriented director doing it, because that's exactly what Phoenix Wright needs. Super action all the time, with background explosions going off everytime someone yells "TAKE THAT!"

That doesn't make it any better in my mind. I never wanted to see this live action.

Please no. The fact that Phoenix is always surrounded by under aged girls would be controversial for a live action adaptation.
Not in Japan it isn't!

OT: This could be awesome if done right, will check it out!

Hm...not sure what to think about this. I always imagined an Ace Attorney movie as being animated; live-action, if it were to work at all, would need to remove a number of cartoony elements, the same way The Dark Knight did for Batman.

I'm not saying Ace Attorney should be dark and brooding; far from it. Hell, I think it SHOULD have been animated, but if they're going to go for live action, they should recognize in which ways live action comes through best.

OBJECTION. I just wanted to do that. How many video games have they made to movies that actually did well in the box office, or like the Mario Bros movie became a cult classic. I can't think of many.

This is my most quoted post. It has the least content.

Also, I can't see how you can make Pheonix Wright into a good movie though. It's a great game, I just don't see the translation.
