This sounds hilarious. I'd watch it. It may be desperate, but it sounds like a laugh. Although I don't know what they were thinking when they decided to make this.

This movie will probably be getting my money just for the possibility of seeing Kelly Brook's nipples in 3D.
15 seconds of googling with your filter off can show you that. You could even make popcorn and eat Reese's Pieces if you want.

This is one of those things where people die because they have to, not because they would. Oh waaah, Spring Break, just close the damn thing and be like "Monster Pirahna" and show it. How hard is that? But hey, not like anyone important dies. Most of us (Escapists) would be fine were it real.
The officials don't see to try very hard to get them out either. Nor do the kids seem too concerned since they are still near the fucking water after they discover the problem. "oh, deadly piranha? Let me 30 feet to get off this boat/pier towards land. I am going to try a different beach." Movie resolved.

This just looks so bad it'll be good. Everything from the poor special effects, to the campy acting to the fact that the Piranha's roar underwater all looks like it'll be really stupid and poor in quality.
And yet I reckon a lot of people will watch it just for that reason, I know I probably might just to shut my brain off an enjoy the mindless fun of watching people be devoured by piranhas.

That said they are resurrecting a movie franchise that only existed to capitalize on Jaws so I do have to agree they are kind of running out of ideas.

Damn I was hoping for this to be the next big psychological thriller and I wasn't disappointed. The focus on the piranha's pack mentality serves as a fitting analogy to humanity's own social norms. Can't you tell?

Well it's a remake of a movie that was a spoof of Jaws, what do you expect?

And it can't be worser than

And high budget horror that doesn't supposed to be taken serious is so rare today. I will watch it on the big-screen when it arrives here.

Oh, I've been looking forward to this for a while.

Every time I see the trailers for this movie, I can't help laughing...and no one that I've watched these trailers with has been any different. I'm honestly surprised that there are people out there taking this seriously...

I think the problem is it isss trying to be serious. When I saw the advert for it the only actual kamp bit was when they all growled in the water. The rest appeared as though they were trying to be perfectly genuine...... But it's crap.
Very, very, few can pull off intended camp. When they try it usually comes out bland and entertaining. It seems to be an unwritten rule of camp that you can't really intended for that result to truly achieve heights of greatness.

OT: I will probably give it a go.

Wow! I was four when the original came out. The only reason this one will be better is linked directly to my attraction to skimpy bathing outfits (yes horribly dulled by intarwebz nudity, but still...)

And maybe Ving Rhames using a merc outboard motor to cut up 2 million year old fish. :D

... Sweet Jesus, that looked campy. Exactly the type of movie my best friend and me would watch on a Saturday night when we were still kids. :)

I have been waiting for this movie my whole life :D
On Topic: I think they have given up on creativity and are now just using a dart board with various pictures on it. This time they landed on Piranha, Spring Break and Earthquake.

Interestingly enough, those are both some fairly funny films, unintentional, but still funny. I'm pretty sure that Spring Break is a film though. I just haven't seen it.

OT: My mom forced me to watch the original when I was in middle school, I am defiantly forcing her to see this one.

There is nothing worse than a horror/comedy that tries to disguise itself as a true horror film. The guys who made, 'The Gingerbread Man' horror were smart enough to realize it was silly and made it a comedy. Hence the scene where the evil Gingerbread Man fires 27 rounds automatically out of a revolver.

Seriously, why are people complaining about this?

It looks crappy as hell and should be good for a laugh, it's a film to go to the cinema with your friend to just for the lolz.
It's junk entertainment at it's finest, yet here we are on the Escapist "Omg another dumb movie has been made"

It's a film about fish with teeth, not every film has to be pushing the boundaries of thought.

Like others have said, it's just being ridiculous for the sake of being ridiculous. I don't plan on seeing it, but its mere existence gives me a good laugh, so I give it a thumbs up.

Couldn't it be completely avoided by swimming in a pool?
Or can the piranas jump out of water and into swimming pools?

Geez, you think these movies could use something different than college kids, seeing as we love to hate college kids and hope the monsters nom them all to shit.

I literally have nothing more to say about this movie. It's just not worth it.
