It's amazing how pirates can be so popular while everyone dances around the fact that they were having butt sex with eachother. Go ninjas.
Maybe ninjas were just a bit sneakier about it...
True, true.

Ninjas are cool to but there hasn't been a good pirate game in years where as ninja games are being regularyly churned out of production
Let's see, other than Ninja Gaiden, and the plague of Naruto games, ninjas don't have that many games. They are mostly just characters in Arcade Style Fighting Games.

But yes, I have not seen any pirate games since, since, ... Dinotopia for the Gameboy Advance had pirates. So hopefully pirates can make a comeback from Pirates online.

Just get that. It'll satisfy all your gaming desires.
I found I got tired of that game in about an hour....it's very repetitive.
Did you get the expansion/sequel, Live the Life? It expands on Pirates! a lot, makes the repetition a lot more bearable. I can understand how people might not enjoy it, but it really is the best pirate simulation thus far.

Oh, and play it on a harder difficulty. It's a lot easier to ignore the repetition when you're getting your ass handed to you by coastal barques.

Ninja blade, afro samurai, teenage mutant ninja turtles (If i wanna be picky) and Onechanbara: Bikini Samurai Squad all are ninja games i would add to that list as well

I've only heard Ninja blade slightly, and I've never heard of Onechanbara. But are afro samurai and Onechanbara samurai games, or ninja games? I wouldn't consider them to be the same.

Cut for space. How are they the same? Ninjas originated in China. They hide in the shadows, wore cloth clothing, and other than the katana, they has a wide variety of throwing weapons. Samurais originated in Japan. They acted as hired mercenaries, wore heavy armor, and focused mainly on the katana as a main weapon. Maybe the game designers threw in too many ninja aspects when making samurai games.

It wasn't even the best Caribbean maritime game that came out in Q4 2004. Port Royale 2 was the better game, which basically took Pirates! and crossed it with Patrician 3.

I think we are agreeing. We both believe that while these games are about samurais, they have been created like ninja games. I've always believed afro samurai has the loosest grasp on Eastern culture in the world.

I don't want to be the guy who corrects everybody, but ninjas originated in Japan. And samurai were nobility, not mercenaries. Samurai were the equal of European knights in the way they acted.

Uh, NO! NO, NO, NO! NO! NO! NO NO NO!

Now that that's done, samurais originated in Japan too. They were the guards and soldiers, knights of Japan, if you will. They were of noble decent, and protected emperors, they were not mercenaries. Ninjas were farmers, who adapted farmer things, like a small sickle, into a sickle on a chain, a very deadly weapon. Also, they had blow dart guns, crushed glass that they threw into people's eyes, and a ninjato, a shorter version of the katana. Ninjas were farmers rebelling, basically.

Ninja's originated in 14th century feudal Japan, Ninja comes from the Japanese word ninjutsu which means "the art of stealth", also they were used for espionage, sabotage, and scouting. They weren't warriors, they were spies.
