"It hardly matters which way Sir Arnup decides we should go. It's not as though he is our sole route-maker and decision-maker."
"Which way do you think we should go then?" Haseo inquired.
Leonart paused for a moment, looking toward each door in turn. While he did hate to admit it, he had no idea. So he didn't admit that. He decided that he would make up some reason other than 'Eeny meeny miney mo' to choose a specific exit.
Firstly, he noticed that they were all exactly the same, save for the wearing away they had all received over the last who knows how long.
Next, he noticed a few subtle differences. The middle door had a large crack running along it, which seemed to have become a hotbed for spontaneous algal growth. He would discount that door on the grounds that whatever was on the other side of that door would no doubt be unleashing dangerous quantities of something that helped the algae to grow, which he also assumed would not be very helpful for humanoids to live.
The right door had a gash embedded in it's surface, which might have been from a sword or dagger of some description. Perhaps someone had seen the doors and tried to open them the same way as the one before? He cared not. This gash did not appear to suggest any pestilence beyond.
The left door had a large rune cut into it, that he thought may have been one of the adventurer's before them going mad. It didn't seem to hold any significance, but it may have been a direction.
"Well," Leonart said, "I would say that we should go through the door on the left. But that is only me."
