Well I can start playing now (wasn't going to start at 11pm when I have to get up at 7am), so I'll probably be running around the sanctuary any minute now (after configuring stuff though) and getting those easy first 4 ranks.
Do you have that VOIP server setup yet? What be best way to communicate.Spinwhiz said:Hi Crew!
I need a couple people who have played PS to try and get something moving. I would love to but this is a community event, not a staff only event.
So, start planning and let's get this party started! Perhaps going over some basics for first time players would be helpful as well (how to start, weapons to take, etc)
This is the best thing you can do to start getting organized. Get some people setup with the outfit so they can add new members. Then get those names out to all the Escapist people (contest entrants AND those who just want to help). With all the Escapist people in the outfit, it will make communication much easier. When new people arrive, someone in the outfit can peel off and help them out. When there are enough Esc peeps online for some good coordinated fun, it will be easier to get them together, even if some people don't have voice comms. There are alot of PS vets on this forum who can be a great assistance. I have a TR toon I would be happy to recert with all support stuff to help facilitate the fun of the group. Vets can also re-cert as needed based on what people want to do for entertainment. Armor, airborne gunship, bomber, etc. It all flows from being able to communicate, and the outfit is the key to that. I know Spinwhiz doesn't want this to be a mod led adventure, so a little communication on his part to spread the word on the outfit will let the players take over all the in-game heavy lifting.Docan said:I am not one of the 70 selected, but i just created an outfit Called "The Escapist Crew" Pm Doccan in game for invite.

Ok, so you've set that at the root .exe file in your program files folder? That's the only one you need to do all that to. How are you trying to fire it up and what problem/error message are you getting?Ollie596 said:I might go insane i cannot get this working on vista i've tried this

I searched Planetside exe in Vista, right-clicked on the exe file, went to properties, then compatibility and switched it to Win98/ME. Works great for me now.Ollie596 said:Yeah just the root.exe in my program files, but everytime i do that it changes the station manager to the same then i get the unsupported OS crap so i launch station manager then make the changes i load the game get my character then go into the game gets into loading TR sanctuary, then black screen and planetside has encounted a error and must closeSinging Gremlin said:Ok, so you've set that at the root .exe file in your program files folder?
