It's a good game, I don't blame the guard :D Though i'm guessing you won't see a scene like that in prison break.

Interesting story. Not every day something straight out of a comedy happens. Gaurding can be boring work and I can relate with him wanting a distraction. Not enough info really here to see if the gaurd was incompitent or if the prosioners were more resourseful than expected.
Either way the gaurd should have been more alert, even if he was looking for something to distract himself with.

Here's a hint - he left the keys where they could reach through the bars and grab them. ;-)

The game is obviously going to blamed. I mean; who doesn't blame the devil for every fire in the world?

oh wait....

On a completely unrelated note - how ironic would it have been if the escaped convicts got out and are attacked ferociously by tulips, with the prison guard laughing manically while attached to a flying snowbell?
"I AM THE KING OF THE PLANTS! MWAHAHAHA!"

Seth McFarlane should have a clip animated into an episode of Family Guy about this. I play it too but there is such thing as a pause button and the guard has the kind of job that should have been given his full attention instead of Plants vs. Zombies. After that guard gets fired all games will be deleted and banned for both staff and inmates of that prison for sure.

SUCH an awesome game (hint hint Yahtzee) though shame on the guards for playing it at work and missing the escape

that game is fun as hell, but as Cody211282 said: "All I read was incompetent guard lets prisoners escape."

That's one guy who should never get a job in professional security again.

Casual games are insanely hard to tear yourself away from, as horrible it is for me to admit... I understand, but dang... you're on duty at a prison...
This is pretty much my reaction as well. I know these type's of games can be addictive as crack but dude, you're on duty at a bloody prison man, no excuse for that kind of screwing around.

As a Filipino, I think I'm supposed to facepalm, but this thing is too funny.

Edit:

Watch: Video games will be blamed for it.

Not the gaurd. No, no, no; He was simply taken by the evil powers of video games.
That's not the case here, we're wading knee-deep in shit enough as it is. If this does happen, I will headdesk, no questions asked.

Edit2:
HOW THE HECK HAVE I ONLY HEARD OF THIS NOW?

Aren't you being a bit calm? I'd be worried about the guy(s) that are still at large because this guard was addicted to a video game!

I'm quite far from Cagayan de Oro (a few hours by plane or a few days by boat). Well, we did create the Dancing Inmates for the entertainment purposes of the internet, so I think that balances out...

Unfortunately, guard work is some of the most tedious work out there, and it's just human nature that after weeks of absolutely NOTHING happening to break the tedium, you're going to end up relaxing and dropping your guard for a while, and then over time you're going to care less and less as nothing happens.

Then when something happens, everyone's back on full alert. The absolute highest level of alert for guards is directly AFTER something bad happens :D

I can't really blame him for gaming on work time, when his job is pretty much 10 hour shifts of staring at some bars to see if they move. I do blame him for being lax with keys and not pausing every few minutes to have a look away from the screen.

Damn I thought it was Mod for this game.

Wow, that guard should be fired. Hilarious Story though.
Let me guess, Fox got it's dirty hands on this one?

See this? This is proof that casual games are bad! These casual gamers will be the death of us all!

/wierd combination of hardcore gamer and sensationalist journalist.

On topic: Wow, there's at least 3 ways the guard should get fired for this (wasting company time, neglecting duties, leaving the goddamn keys lying around). I mean, aren't there belt loops on guard uniforms to keep their keys on?
