I'll add my voice to the masses willing you to buy the Prince of Persia: Sands of Time trilogy. They're worth every penny.

Wait, what the hell? Oh, I think I get it; you're challenging his assertion that he can run any game currently out.

The Prince of Persia games pretty much defined the parkour platforming that you seem to be a fan of; I've heard Crackdown is another good title for that sort of thing, though it's more of an action game. Definitely check out Mirror's Edge. Other than that . . . Tomb Raider?

The Prince of Persia series is a must. Other than that the new Tomb Raider isn't bad. But I haven't played much of it so don't quote me on that.

In before someone mentions Psychonauts and hails the end of the universe as we know it.

By all means acquire POP: Sands of Time but avoid the other two (three).
Why avoid the others? The combat in Sands of Time almost made me want to just skip to Warrior Within all together.

You can't really go too wrong with the new Prince of Persia. Though I'd say just rent it because once you complete it, there's not much reason to go back to it.

Technically more of an action-adventure game than a platformer, but it's still epic.

As for my chips, I'm saying Prince of Persia is good, as is Mirror's Edge, and though not exactly a platformer and not for the Xbox, Okami. Also, do buy Psychonauts. It's fantastic and quirky and fun and all that other stuff.

Um...

Knytt Stories?

Oh! Wait! You might be able to get into the beta for Atmosphir! Just google it, you should find it. As long as you have a decent internet connection, it should be fine. It's really cool.

So is Knytt Stories, though, you should try both.

Knytt Stories is very not advanced in graphics, being a 2d side-scroller and all, so you won't be able to gawk at the millions of polygons your processor is putting out. If that's your thing...

Platform games are basically dead. It's a shame, especially because the N64-era ones are some of the best games ever designed.

The original Prince of Persia, no not Sands of Time, the original because it's better.

Better combat for one, secondly you actually have to time your jumps and finally it will take you longer then a day to finish. Can't wallrun though, so if you really must wallrun then Sands of Time is your girl.
