I was in the local Gamestop last weekend and saw they had two racks of PS2 games. "Awesome" I thought. I took a closer look and they were buy two get two free. They were priced anywhere from $2 (paper sleeve) to $10 (still in case).

So, I'm probably going to get a massive amount of games (10-20) and need recommendations. My library already includes:
-Sly Copper (the original)
-Splinter Cell (the original)
-Metal Gear Solid 3: Snake Eater

Try to keep any recommendations rated Teen or lower, because Gamestop cards people more than a liquor store.

Uh, seriously? I've never been carded at Gamestop. Actually, I've bought alcohol a time or two without being carded (I don't really ever drink, and look like I'm 12). I mostly get carded buying ammo.

But anyway, Final Fantasy X is a really good game, if you're into that sort of thing.

If you're not there getting Persona 4 and God Hand, you're doing it wrong.

Seriously, get Persona 4 and God Hand.

Persona 4 is pretty good. Also I sense that there is going to be a somewhat irritating post with links to other threads

Devil May Cry seems to be in a spotlight these days. So you might want to get DMC 1 and DMC 3.

DMC 2 doesn't exist.

Are you a fan of The Lord of the Rings? If so I highly suggest you go pick up Lord of the Rings: The Two Towers and Lord of the Rings: Return of the King. They're pretty amazing games.

JRPGs
Final Fantasy X
Persona 3/4
Kingdom Hearts 1/2(More of an ARPG)

Racing
Need for Speed: Most Wanted
One of the Burnouts (I forget which the best one was, 3?)

Stealth
Metal Gear Solid 2/3 (sorry mixed that one up, and you already have 3)

Hack 'n Slash
Lord of the Rings: The Two Towers/Return of the King
Devil May Cry 3 Special Edition (Make sure it's the special edition, play it. If you enjoy it and can complete it on hard mode without the soft respawns, get Devil May Cry 1 too.)
God of War

Pretty Arty Games
Okami
Shadow of the Colossus

Sandbox
Spiderman 2
Gran Theft Auto: San Andreas

Horror
Silent Hill 1,2,3
Resident Evil 4

They're all somewhat specialised tastes, but a lot of those games appear on lists of best games ever and all of them deserve to be. If you've got some very specific interests I might be able to think of some recommendations around that

Good games. I'll play anything from racing, to shooters, to RPGs, to puzzle games.
O my, so snark!

The reason I ask is because I have over 400 PS2 games, so I'm just thinking of how to narrow it down.

Well alot of my recommendations have been said, but Ill reiterate: GOW 1&2, POP series, Sly Cooper 2&3, DMC 1&3 special edition (seriously, the above poster is right, skip 2. It`s like Highlander 2, it just doesn`t exist) And some of my favourite games on the PS2 ever: The Onimusha trilogy.

although, if you have a PS3 and don`t plan on using cheat devices then buy the HD collections if you can, they look so much nicer on an HDTV. However I own all those on PS2 cuz I still abuse my Action Replay disc when I`m bored and want to have lazy fun.

GTA: SA
All the Timesplitters games.
All the Sly Cooper games.
Jak and Daxter.

That's all I can think of off the top of my head.

I'd say get the following if possible:

Dragon quest VIII
Dark Cloud
Katamari Damacy
STEAMBOT CHRONICLES(if they have it, FUCKING GET IT.)
Both of the final fantasy titles on the system
Jak 1,2, and 3
Ratchet and clank (any of them)
All the sly coopers
The old CoD titles were actually quite good.
MGS substance and subsistence. The "upgraded" versions of 2&3.

Thats all I can think of.

Seriously, if they have steambot chronicles, get it.

Didn't mean it as a jab to the side. And, really 400 games? How much space does that take up?
Alright, I'll look though my inventory and copy some of the better ones.

Not too much.
I put the games in two decent sized cloth CD wallets and the inlays/booklets in boxes.

When I have the space I'll get DVD cases again and toss 'em in there.
