When I buy a new game, I get really exited and immediately pop it in. Though I have heard of people who do buy games and don't play it right away. I never understood why except if they bought the game on vacation or something. Has this happened to you and explain why.

I bought Lost Odyssey because I saw it on sale, but I'm still in the middle of Tales of Vesperia. So it's sat on the shelf for almost two months; I've played the first 20 minutes or so out of curiosity and put it back down. Hopefully I'll be able to finish Tales sometime, because it looked interesting enough.

Also, earlier in the summer, I bought Mass Effect, started it, put it down for a good month, then got it back out and beat the SHIT out of it. Same with GTA 4.

Yes. It was during Christmas weekend, I got Prince of Persia and a couple of other new games and well....I was in Georgia visiting family and I live in Oklahoma! I had to wait nearly a week! I couldn't take it!

If I'm spending the money, it means I'm ready to play the game right then. Otherwise I would wait. Even if I don't play it much right away, I still start it.

I only put it off when I have multiple games at the same time.

Well I got halo 3 at launch, but been September I had exams to study for and a ton of work to hand in, I also had a LAN at the end of it all, all in a three day period.

So what did I do? Alternated! Work by day, halo by night.

Though I've still not installed flight simulator gold on my pc yet, and I also got spore at launch and I've still not played much of it.

It a time thing mostly... There is just too many good games out there now...

I got a lot of games last Christmas and mainly played Bioshock and Crackdown while putting Lost Planet and Guitar Hero 1 & 2 aside in the corner.

I try to finish a game before buying a new one, but if I see something hard to find/that I want and is on sale (for a good price), I'm likely to buy it. If that happens I probably won't play it until I finish whatever I'm working on (unless what I'm playing happens to be quite bad).

Sometimes, the anticipation of something can be equally, if not more, stimulating as actual contact with the something. Everyone out there who is just coming down off of the Christmas / New Years vacation/gift/celebratory combo, or anyone who fell for the trailer to [a href="http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Balls_of_fury"]"Balls of Fury"[/a] can tell you all about it...

I bought God of War 1 and 2 at the same time, and my plan was to play the first one all the way through before even putting the second one in. That...sorta got messed up when the disc for GoW1 turned out to be bugged. So while waiting until I could go back to the store and get that disc replaced, I played GoW 2 instead, wanted to make sure that disc wasn't bugged as well. Luckily, there wasn't much in the way of spoilers, I had watched a friend of mine play through most of both games prior to my purchase.

Then...there's Morrowind. Picked up a very cheap copy months ago (at this point over half a year), got as far as making a character, and nothing since. I don't imagine I will until I completely finish all the other games I'm working through. And I didn't even start it up right after getting it (I...read the manual first. I feel a little weird being able to state that I got more entertainment so far out of the manual than the actual game.)

If I buy a game I damn well play it. I can't think of one instance I buy a game but don't play it when I get home. My dad does that though. He still has an unopened copy of COD4 for PS3

Once. I just got back form California, I had just bought Mass Effect on Black Friday. The day I got back I popped it in on my 360, and it RRoD'd.

I usually start playing right away, unless they are cinematic and my girlfriend wants to watch, in which case I have to wait until she has the time. Luckily, that usually only happens with titles like GOW and Prince of Persia, though Heavenly Sword was like that too.

Otherwise I at least try them out at once.

Whenever I buy a game, I play it right away. Whenever a game is bought for me, Like S.T.A.L.K.E.R Shadow of chernobyl has been bought for me, it gets set aside until I finish a couple of other games.

I often buy a game and not play it, as I'm savouring it such as Shadow of Collosus, only problem there is I tried to play it and the disc wont read.
