Hey guys, I'm 15, came a little late to the party and feel like I have missed alot. Is it worth buying a PS2 off my friend for £15 to play classics like Shadow Of The Colossus and Resident Evil 4, or am I better off saving my cash for new stuff like Mass Effect 2?

Probably, considering the games you mentioned are regarded very, very, highly. Especially for $15.
Although, if you like the "new big thing", then I'd wait and get Mass Effect 2 or another blockbuster game.

Do you not have other consoles? On a personal note I preferred RE 4 on the others compared to the PS2, but it's still good, if he's selling it to you as well then take it!

Well do you have a PS3 cause ya' know backward compatibilty.
If not i'd say its a great deal go on on it's only £15.

Yup, I'll go with everyone else on this. I've recently dug my PS2 out of a cupboard, it's a bit worse for wear so I'm looking for a new one... or at least a decent pre-owned one. I'm expecting to pay somewhere between £40-60, so £15 is a proper bargain if it's in good working order.

For 15, your practically robbing your friend at gun point. Yes, buy it definately. All the great PS2 games are all probably pretty cheap too, so you'll still have money for new awesomeness like Mass Effect 2.

I still adore my PS2. It's the best god damn console ever made. So many memories. It is worth the full price in my opinion. You can play games like God of War 1 and 2, Metal Gear Solid 2 and 3, Resident Evil 4, Def Jam: Fight for NYC, Devil May Cry 3, Shadow of the Colossus, GTA LCS, GTA VCS.........so many to name, so little time

And if you didn't play some of these games that I mentioned you should forget about Mas Effect 2. It will be a good game, but I don't think it could ever beat a classic like Metal Gear Solid 3

Erm yup Xbox 360. My friend has RE 4, but is there anywhere I can find SotC cheap?

Also, can you connect a PS2 to your PC monitor, thus switching between the PC and the console?

And...what is Okami? I've heard alot of praise for it, though I have no idea what it is.

Oh and do the early God Of War and Metal Gear Solid games stack up well against today's releases, or were they just good at the time?

Your choice is really; buy old, good stuff at a really good price,
or buy new, (probably) good stuff at a price that's probably going to go down by the time you're done with the older games.
The choice is pretty obvious, me thinks.

Biggest thing is making sure the disk ejector still works. When ps2's get a lot of age on them thats the first to mess up(from my expierence) and if it can't move the tray in and out your screwed.
