Good thing my PS3 hasn't experienced any problems after the update. I still remember the whole not being to log in problem, but it wasn't too serious.

The main problem with the whole idea of releasing a patch to "fix" this is at least two fold...ignoring the console breaking, I mean.

One: It's basically the same as having some guy from Subaru come over and remove the Air Conditioning from your car for "security purposes". The people with Linux-compatible consoles paid for every bit of that system, taking away a piece of it now is retarded. People with guns should get their triggers taken back for "security purposes"!

Two: The people hacking the console...just wont update?! Omfg?! I mean, how the hell does this patch solve the problem for any person half-way experienced in cracking systems? It's like the people at Sony thought releasing the patch would force it somehow into the systems of the hackers, thus foiling their diabolical efforts!

Are you gonna keep up that Calumon thing for ever? (I do actually hope so, your posts make me laugh)
Until I die! Or I get bored and give Calumon an account where Calumon is the only poster! (Probably never going to happen...)

Calumon: I wanna play forever and ever and ever!
Maybe I will create one myself. Hopefully not.

Here's a little advice to Microsoft, Nintendo, Sony and Valve.

They've all released updates that have fucked up many things on their services. There is a simple fix, TEST THE DAMN THINGS!!!

Is it truly that hard to just give your updates a whirl and seeing it messes things up before pissing off your customers?

Every update to anything ever seems to cause problems for at least a few people :p

I don't think the problems with this one are too worrying or even that common.

Just stop updating the PS3 yourselves. You obviously can't handle that responsibility on your own.
I would settle for that.
I've come to the sad conclusion that sony is never going to add all those cool features they promised us. They seem intent on just taking away features and only adding the most worthless features from other consoles.

Many had problems with this update before we learned it was bricking machines.

I hope the 360's rrod problem is fixed; I want to move over to that system. It's unfortunate that we have one company with crappy hardware but decent support and another company with great hardware that will never reach it's potential because it get's incredibly poor support.

In fact, I wouldn't even call it support anymore, it's more like they're deliberately running the thing into the ground.

You've got quite a lot of balls to start trolling.
Hmmm if you thought I was being serious or even inciting anger I apologize, god knows The Box (I Shalt Not Speak Thine Holieth Name) hasn't had its share of hardware mishaps.

TLDR I wasn't being serious...

Dodged this problem, dodged the clock...dodged all the other ones. I love my phattie!

I have yet to be stopped playing once by Sony. Though my first PS3 did die, but they replaced it outside of warranty.

Now, back to killing Zeus.

This is actually one of the most succint summations of this console generations I have ever seen. Kudos. It's actually kind of amazing how long it's taking Sony to wrap their heads around the whole "make some damn useful system softward" meanwhile MS can't seem the grasp the whole "make a system that works reliably" thing. Although both have gotten better I don't trust either of them as far as I can throw their company.

Last week I disabled the internet so I could reach a boss without black phantom interferences in Demon's Souls. I feel relieved I haven't bothered to enable it yet.
(Everyone who invades players heading to the False King are bastards, especially if they bring a big delay between the player and the phantom with them.)

Well in all fairness Sony isn't the only one that manages to forget to test their patches enough. WoW has been nearly shut down a couple times because a patch they released really fubared play for most people. In fact it's practically tradition to expect some wonkiness the first few days of a patch there.
Considering though the changes this patch incurred, it should be no surprise. This would be a good reason why:

Not to mention to remove the Other OS you have to back up your system data to a HDD (Fat 32 only not NTFS) then format your PS3. And if you DON'T do this, you're left with the other OS taking up space you cannot access because the update does not remove this.

A feasible suggestion, but do you honestly think Sony would give license to anyone outside their company to look into their firmware code? It is to laugh!

Could I ask where Caulmon originated from?
No but you may ask where Calumon came from! ^^

Well... I'm getting rather fed up of saying it (Maybe I'll make a hotlink that will automatically type it?)

Calumon originated from Digimon Tamers which, in my opinion, is absolute perfection, especially for it's time. Calumon was sort of the Mascot Character, who actually played a major part in the story. I set him as my Avatar and one day, someone, who shall go nameless and is now banned, said "Does your Calumon even talk? What use is a Digimon that doesn't talk?" Thus, I held a middle finger to him and Calumon has entered my Life... and my Escapist.

And Here's Calumon with a version of Boom De Yada

Calumon:
I Love to play Tag!
I love to Say my Thoughts!
I love to hug Jack!
I love to see the stars!
I love the whole World,
So many people to play!

BOOM DE YADA
BOOM DE YADA
BOOM DE YADA
BOOM DE YADA

Thanks. I noticed that when I was first shopping for a next gen console back in 2008.

However, the reason I keep thinking of moving to the 360 is because it's actually improving. None of my friends have gotten a rrod in a while and that is what was really turning me away. Sony on the other hand (while the ps3 is getting better games than before) seems to be getting worse and worse with their support. I do agree 100% that these companies shouldn't be trusted but I feel that's the case with any company that has to do with gaming.

If only we could kidnap the people who made the ps3 hardware and the people who support the 360 and make them design the ultimate console.

It's actually really unfortunate that these are the choices we've been given this generation. It kind of makes me wish I just stuck to the pc. Sure it costs as much as all the consoles put together (if you want a really good one) but I have one anyway and at least it really does "Do Everything."
