Alright so now that the console reveal is over. I think they did a good thing overall of bombarding us with games. And I was actually surprised to see just how many of those games were new IP's. I figured there would be a lot of sequels and reboots or whatever, but they gave us a nice mix.
The big moments for me were Spider Man 2, Demon's Souls, Horizon 2, and Resident Evil 8.
But the console reveal was great, it looks really nice. And they are clearly trying to offer twoprice points on the system so that'll be good for a lot of people I imagine.
And all the indie titles were great to see. Though none really grabbed me, it was nice to see a big focus on smaller studios.

And the game as is looks pretty unique. Because I hardly see anything recognizably Resident Evil.
Well I mean, it looks recognizable based of 7. So maybe they are sticking on that same feeling for a while. A new direction for the series that they hopefully wont fuck up like last time.
Loving the event. My main problem is that they are stiil withholding the details and price point forPS5. The design looks awkward, but I can get used it. I do like the futuristic look. Even if it looks try hard. I hope they have alternate colors. Sony is killing it with new and original IPs on the show. I never expected another Oddworld game on a Sony console. The last one I've seen on a Sony console was the PS1 days. The opening with GTAV was the dumbest and weirdest thing ever. It's 7 year old game from two generations ago. Overall Sony, not bad, but could have been better in some aspects. I'd give the reveal a C+.

Not 100% sold on that design. Might just be that baseplate it’s sitting on ruining the symmetry of the curves though.'
Also heard an unconfirmed rumour that the price was gonna be north of $1,000AUD and wow can that go fuck itself if it’s true.
Spider-Man Miles Morales will be a system seller for me, and there were a couple of cute indie games here and there - but doubtful that any of those will be PS5 exclusive.
On another note, that console is UGLAY. It is not a pretty looking console by any stretch of the imagination, and my girlfriend and I literally burst into laughter when the whole thing was showed off. It literally looks like my the tower fan that I have in my livingroom.
Sure, the Xbox Series X might be a big boring cube, but at least it is neutral and inoffensive. The PS5 looks so horribly alien, and like a fan-made concept someone thought the PS3 would look like.
Otherwise, im pretty surprised by the lack of pricing, so I guess Microsoft and Sony will just be waiting each other out, so that the other can undercut them.

That DeS Remake looks fantastic but the artstyle doesn't look, idk, 'gothic' anymore. I guess it's impossible to emulate From Software's art direction. Still, the detail looks amazing and Bluepoint has more than proven itself. RE8 looked really good as well. I really hope DeS is gonna be a launch title.
I have to be honest though that PS5 design is horrifying. I really don't like curves, crevices and open edges in electronic devices and PS5 has all three. It looks almost exactly like the TV decoder I got from the cable company many years ago.Wish they kept the design just slick. But anyways who cares, it's about the games anyway. I do really like the design of the controller though. Looks really comfy. I'll tuck the console itself somewhere I don't see it.
Shorter load times + BC is also instant buy from me.

It looks like a TV recorder or something emerging from a flower petal-like shell. Not loving it or hating it, but points for doing something unexpected. Hopefully they fix the cooling issues they’re apparently having. Also it looks like it could be kinda delicate.
As for games, Horizon Forbidden West and the Demons Souls Remake (perhaps with the cut content and enhanced gameplay mechanics!?) are particularly grin-inducing, but the overall showing was pretty solid with a few surprises. Now just the nitty gritty details like price, features and backwards compatibility, along with seeing some raw gameplay demonstrations.
