actually word bro thats a good point.

but yea me and my friend (xbox fanboys) were just joking around and were wondering what would happen if people started getting pissed and like blaming sony for their cod not working.
I'm sorry, but when "CoD" is uncapitalized and put in that context, I get awesome mental images...
Oh god... get it out of my head!

Its something with the date look under your system settings apparently it threw the server out of wack. I just confirmed it on mine.

And thus, the RRoD jokes are at an end, and the peoples of this earth rejoiced.
Only if this problem was to persist throughout the lifespan of this console generation.....like the RROD problem has.

Mine wasn't connected to the internet and I can't play anything except my blu-ray movies. Has nothing to do with server anything. Error 8005010F or something. I called Sony Tech support and they have no idea what is going on. Not being able to sign in to PSN or playing games are related to the same issue as far as they can tell. You can't sue if your free internet isn't working but if your $300 piece of equipment stops functioning widespread it might be an issue. All I have to say is it better be fixed by 3/9. I have me some FFXIII to play and I really didn't want to play it on my 360.

Yeah I did read it was hacked, I also cannot play Heavy Rain. I get the Trophy Registration error message (8001050F). It has to do with the time on your PS3, mine says 31/12/1999. I honestly don't know how it could have been changed, I haven't connected my PS3 to the internet in a few months, and I don't use PSN. This makes me believe it's a problem with something else.

It's got to do with the internal clock, this pretty much is what is going on

So i went to play heavy rain....

i couldnt connect to the psn and heavy raind woudnt load. so i said screw it and went to play pain, and then try flow... not working.

hit the internetz and find out its happeneing everywhere?!!?!?

is it true? can it be? did someone hack, the ps3?!

if this isnt fixed.... this could be the last of sony. just imagine all the people who are gonna sue and all the ps3 recalls... surely sony can't compinsate it all?

what you guys think?
it can't possibly be a hardware issue. that many PS3 failing all at the same time.......that borders on outright conspiracy. It's more likely that the network went down or something. It happens sometimes.

And no, lawsuits would not occur. It a freaking internet-based network failure, not lead in toddler toys

It's not a network problem - one of the latest updates had a bad bug, so any game that has trophies cannot be played online OR offline, downloaded games included. The 8001050F error seems like it prevents you from connecting to the PSN... so, what, I'll have to download the update to a USB drive and install it that way? And the weird thing is, it doesn't affect PS3 Slims... WTF?!

I highly doubt that it will end sony...

though since I am a 360 man I will of course pray for the worst.
Screw that. From what I've played on the PS3, there are a much higher percentage of children, since the online is free, and they overuse the mic.

When this happened I thought it was my internet connection. But hey, I can always blaze up the 360 until they fix it :/.

I'm having the same problem, I can't sign in. Another weird thing that has happened is the time has frozen, it stays at one o.clock am and doesn't move. Even when I set the right time, it just resets itself everytime I turn the console on.

Although I'm going to agree with the others and say that PS3 is not being hacked and it's probably just a technical problem, which will hopefully resolve itself.

I think that you're over exaggerating a simple maintenance check/failure which would most likely be solved by tomorrow morning.

Incidentally, even if this were to last a week, online isn't everything so I don't think it would be the last of the PS3.

Much less Sony, which incidentally does more than make PS3s.

Also, seeing as PSN is free, I don't think people can sue at all.
The problem isn't that we're not getting to play online, I would be fine witht that for a little while, but even our single player games are having issues.
