While Christmas is supposed to be a time of happiness and joy, spent with family and friends. My Christmas has just been ruined by the news that you selfish Americans are trying to deport piers morgan. Please find it in your hearts to leave him be, he has more chance of meeting an unpleasant end in your country than ours. Besides no one actually likes the smug faced bastard here in the UK. Every time i hear his name i feel an uncontrollable urge to spit on the ground, like every time i see his face i cant stop myself from vomiting violently. So a cry from the British people, don't send him back here :(

Before you ask, yes, I have been living under a rock, so enlighten me. Why exactly is he under the risk of being deported for, as I gathered from the article, saying that better gun control will lead to less murders?
Edit: I have now achieved enlightenment.

Ironic that people are willing to harm the 1st amendment to protect the 2nd.

I love it when stuff like this happens.

Basically, yes. Doubt he will get deported, but still I'm frightened by the prospect.

Seconded, please keep him; we don't want that wobbly-chinned **** back here thanks very much.

Cant you just drum up some charges of terrorism and ship him off to a detention camp somewhere, never to be seen again?

I think that might be a part of it yes, but he's also an insufferable bell-end, which is probably a factor here.

So it's basically 'Muricans being 'Muricans and wanting to deport someone who is a twat and said something they don't like despite the fact that there is no law against being a twat and freedom of speech?

YES. But in this instance I'd rather they just shoot him in the bollocks and leave him to bleed to death.

To some people here in America that should be a capital offense.

Gun rights people in America are one of the most ridiculous political groups [footnote]by this I mean group as in demographic or something like that rather than an actual organized group[/footnote] in the country. It seems that anytime someone has the nerve to suggest that perhaps owning a dozen assault weapons is not in fact the spirit in which the founding fathers meant the second amendment, there come a massive shitstorm with cries of "Muh Freedoms" and a level of political outrage that rivals even the craziest of liberal ideologues. I would of course, point them to the First Amendment which gives everyone the right to freedom of speech, so they can shove that petition up their collective asses.

Merry fucking Christmas.

A. petitions dont mean crap in this case
B. He wont be deported just because he is anti gun, there are plenty of people in the US who are anti-gun.
C. calling us selfish for deporting someone just because you dont want him in your country is....kinda ironic.

also...oooohhhh 30000 signatures! You can start a petition to have the WBC killed by firing squad and you will probably get millions of signatures, nothing will happen to them.

Can you explain WHY he is so hated in Britain? Sure, the guy does come off as a bit of an A-hole.

sorry about that, but there is a lot of US bashing on these forums so it is hard to tell the difference between fake and real bashing, no matter how it is presented.

Every country are deservedly bashed from time to time. One thing the UK is deservedly bashed for by it own populace is Piers Morgan.

This, I want to know how one can manage to get 2 countries to hate them equally for completely different reasons.

Eh. Ok, for the benefit of the American audience. So there's this scandal about phone hacking that's been going on for a while. A few big names have been arrested, Andy Coulson, Rebekah Brooks, and while they're almost certainly guilty, it's going to be a bit difficult proving so. It's all a case of he said this, and she said he didn't, and stuff like that. Piers Morgan happens to be the one who's actually admitted to phone hacking, through his own Autobiography no less, and then subsequently went and libelled himself to the Leveson Enquiry. So there's a subset of Britons who'd quite like him to come back so we can throw him in jail. Others, like myself, think no, you can fucking keep the sleazy, repulsive ****. He's your fucking problem. Lock him up in your own jail or something. Oh, and be sure to sodomise the twat.

It's a running joke in the UK.

We finally got rid of the bastard and now America wants to send him back. We're not bashing America we just don't him back.

Send him anywhere as long as it's not back here.

Somewhere cold with no internet, camera's or any form of media would be fantastic.

As long as there is one single member of the WBC in the country I don't think anyone should be able to be deported for voicing his opinion.

Basically he was a journalist that did some dodgy shit (worked for the News of the World that was involved in the phone hacking scandal) who got a bit of media attention himself.

Suddenly he thinks he's a full blown celebrity loved by the masses. Appeared as a judge on a couple of talent shows (it was amusing because the guy has zero talent himself) and he's a smug, arrogant prick.

It would be interesting to cross reference the names on this petition demanding that Piers Morgan be deported for advocating gun control, with the names on the petitions demanding that their Sates leave the US after Obama got re-elected.

I wouldn't be surprised if there were a large number of people who want Piers Morgan to be deported from the nation that they themselves no longer want to be a part of.

Yeah the hypocrisy's kinda funny really. I'm starting to think the gun nuts would be happy if the constitution was just 'GUNS!' and mentioned no other rights.

BTW let me make clear that I am distinguishing between regular gun owners and gun nuts, so nobody think I'm insulting people for owning guns. I'm not.

OT: It's OK guys we don't him back, honest. You can keep him.

No really. Keep him. Please.

Hey America no backsies! You let him into your country, you can keep him. Though if you do want to deport him you could always just throw him out the country anywhere... like off the side of a boat in middle of the ocean.

He's vile creature that occasionally wrote and edited for various newspapers including The Sun and the defunct News of The World and has alleged involvement with the phone hacking scandal which forced the closure of The News of The World. He is also quite famous for getting a glass of water poured over his head and punched several times by Jeremy Clarkson. The fact Clarkson wasn't instantly knighted for his actions is a travesty in of itself.
