I think meetings of forum people would be about exciting as licking a dogs urine of a thorn.
Haha, soo wrong, escapism Sydney showed me that. It was great fun meeting new and interesting people and doing stuff that is enjoyable for everyone.

I said London, because it's closer, but I could also do Birmingham most probably.

I'd also suggest after the school exam time because, much as I love you all, I won't be distracted from them.

London. You can get trains to London from pretty much anywhere in the UK.
Yeah and we could hand out the stab proof vests at the train station.
Dude, I've lived in London all 17 years of my life and not once have I come even close to getting stabbed. Its pathetic how people think London is a bad area because of a few minor incidents. Its areas like Manchester, Liverpool and Glasgow you want to avoid. In Glasgow your 7 times more likely to get stabbed than ANYWHERE else in the UK.
I didn't say that. I said I had a stab vest already.

And last time I was in london (last week) I got shouted at within 5 minutes of arriving. For looking up from my magazine in a café.

Summary: Cities are scary.
Ok, so you live in the countryside do you?
And you got shouted at? Well then you must have been asking for trouble because thats bullshit. Ok, Ive been mugged once in London when I was 13 but thats it. Other than that I have never had any problems or trouble living here. You country folk need to grow some balls.
Hey, being shouted at for NO FUCKING REASON withjin 5 minutes of arriving doesn't leave a good impression of a place. I was just saying maybe that's why people say we'd get stabbed / mugged in London.

Meh, friend of mine went down there for the weekend and got mugged on her first night.

Admittedly, she was pished out of her face and from what I understand the ' brutal mugging' was actually her asking a complete stranger to hold her bag for a minute and then being surprised when the stranger wasn't there any more.

...yeah, did I mention my friend's a bit of a ditz?
I don't think we should take this as a typical case for what can happen in London. :)

Honestly, for the most part it's absolutely fine. There shouldn't be any problem having Escapism there.

I'm being selfish and voting for Bristol. 10 minute drive, haha. In all seriuosness though, it should be in the middle of England.

Liverpool. Not only do we have a scenic river which is barely 50% toxic waste, we are also the European city of culture (or so I have been told).
So was Glasgow, it really makes you wonder how they choose what city to award it to....

Oh and also, just because it's in the middle of England doesn't make it the easiest to get to, Flying to London is probably cheaper for me, in the past I saw it cost £8 to fly from Glasgow to London. Though that may have gone up due to recession.

London. I would go. Flights to London are cheap.
I can't help set it up though on account of cynical bone idleness

i agree with the after exam time thing, tbh I can't go anywhere right now because of them so it would have to be 2 months from now if you want me to show myself.

I'd say Sheffield or Manchester. Just because these are both in the middle of England, and they have trains dispersing in all directions all across the country.

Well there was an official escapist meet up over in New York, about a year ago, there have also been two unofficial meet ups in Sydney, Australia.
So the idea is to have one for all the English (and Irish in my case) escapist members.
No plans yet as to what we'd do, we have to sort out the when and where first.
