I cant choose. I mean gamespot just asked me very nicely..
they might have nice messages, but do they have zero punctuation, unskippable, de-rez, ther will be brawl. do they have a brilliant community like here?
do they give good reviews to bad games becuase they want advertising money
How could you forget Doomsday arcade?

Also, we may be better advertising on other forums, I'd say 99% of people have either already voted or are never going to vote.

Edit: Ok, I may be wrong considering the number of people saying they just voted, I kinda of assumed everyone had already seen the ads before every video, the ads framing the site, the thread made by the staff member etc.

They still haven't sent me my registration email :( I don't want GameSpot to win.

Yes, Gamespot sent out an email this morning encouraging votes...
Yeah, they're awarding Emblems for those who vote for them. The achievement whores all responded.

I voted escapist.
Of course the Escapist is doing the same thing for badge whores...

Anyway, although I'm not a big fan of the "badge for everyone if we win!" thing, I voted for the Escapist ages ago, because I can't not vote for the website I spend hours on every day.
My sentiments exactly.
I agree as well.
T'is true. This is easily my most visited website ever, with the possible exceptions of Youtube and the Leeds University website (which doesn't count because I'm a student there anyway so have to go there regularly). Escapist FTW!

Your proportions are wrong. The percentage of lulz is OVER NINE THOUSAND!!!
Oh, I wasn't denying that it was OVER NINE THOUSAAAAAAAAAAAAAND!, but as a percentage it's 10%.

And now you know that everything else that comprises the modern Escapist is also OVER NINE THOUSAAAAAAAND!

I'm so bookmarking these threads for when people complain next March about other companies advertising a contest on this site.
Ah but you see the difference here is that the webbys are meant for the enitre internet, while March Mayhem was intended to be a contest for just the escapist's members, so it's not exactly the same thing.

Well, after talking to Spinwhiz about it, it turns out that it was actually more of a marketing tactic to get more people onto the site then an exclusive contest just for us.

Did it work or did it work?

Mind you, I take most of those types of competitions with a grain of salt.

Well yeah there was that aspect to it, though I can't say for sure if I think it worked or not.

I voted for The Escapist. Who were the other nominations again? Because Gamespot is terribly inferior to its sister site, GameFAQs, merely due to the fact that GameFAQs is largely community driven, with me as part of that community.

Oh yes, tell all your friends to vote for us, If we don't win I'll assume you are all unloved. You wouldn't want that from a stranger on the internet would you?

Escapist needs to win for three reasons.

1. Escapist rules so very much
2. Gamespot sucks so very much
3. I want that badge.

If GameSpot wins, I will lose even more faith in humanity.

And there isn't much left to lose.

I just checked back on the Webby site now and they've passed us up by 1800 or so votes.

If I may say something, what the hell?!

In the whole two weeks or so of voting only a desperate cheating/bribing stunt would have pulled such a gross number of votes in such a short time. I refuse to accept that those votes are legitimate.

I already harassed everyone i know and most of them already voted (If not all of them.). The only other thing i can do is make a bunch of fake accounts but i'm too lazy for that. So the only thing i can do is wait and hope that the Escapist will win.

I have voted, and yet they still PM me. How will they know if I voted anyway?

I think it's suprising that the Escapist stands a chance.

Do we really want more traffic?
I say yes, because more traffic encourages better ad pricing and therefore better success for the Escapist.

It could be a lot easier to vote if people wern't so afraid of using IP's instead of the bullshit e-mail activation.

honestly, I think that would deter a lot of people.

Is GameSpot advertising this, because an influx of over 850 votes is quite a lot.
yes they are i have a account on that site so i can download some mods or updates for some games but i have voted for this site because its much better.and i don't know mine user name of that site. and i agree that the escapist is ways better than gamespot
