Saw this earlier. Nice to see some progression going on. Does this mean that there will be some feature that transfers saves? Will this take place a few years later? or will there be some event that forces (enter trainer's name here) to lose their pokemon?

Also heard some speculation that N and Ghetis ran away to Hoenn, thus implying that the player gets to visit Hoenn Gold/Silver Style and if that is the case...

I really really didn't see this coming.

I honestly thought the next one would be Pokemon Gray...
Me too.

But then again, the story from Black and White was pretty open ended since Ghetsis is nowhere to be found and N is....somewhere.

I've played every generation of pokemon thus far. It's gotten to the point I can describe generational trends, and I was hoping that gen 6 would be a chance to test those theories out.

...Black 2 and White 2 makes this all the more unpredictable until it actualy comes out. Will it be equivilent to gen 6 with a whole new cast of pokemon? Is it just Grey by another name? I don't know, my predictions only work if the first one is true.

If this sequel is the equivelent of gen 6, then here's the predictions:

My generational model states that even numbered generations have eviler bad guys. So While Black, white 1 focused on "N"; Black, White 2 will focus on Ghetisis.

The Model also states New Eeveelutions are also added on even numbered generations. I can't predict which ones, however it would fit pretty well if they were ghost and steel.

The most interesting part of the model is that Even numbered generations have a higher number of likeable pokemon; however those likeable pokemon aren't going to be quite as popular as their few likable counterparts in Odd numbered generations. So expect more Wolves, cats, dogs, cute things, and a boatload of creatures that are more personable than Gen 5's spiders, gears, spiky seeds, flying pottery, snow-flakes and ice-cream.

...And again This all hangs in the balance due to the uncertainty of wether this is equivilent to a new generation or not. This will be interesting to see how it develops...

By the way, did Emerald or platinum ever get this kind effort to publisise it this much? I don't think so, so hopefully it's Equivilent to a new gen. But Remember... I MAY BE WRONG!

Not being Pokemon: Gray is very suprising. We all saw them focusing on Kyurem but this is a bit from left field. Honestly I like it, I liked Black and White's Story and would love to see Ghetsis try to make a comeback.

I'm just going to wander how they are going to ddo it? Are you going to be a new kid setting out on a journey or play the same character from Black and White?
I think this actually IS the third game? But because of the way the plot works, you can't have a Pokemon Gray. Since the Gen III typically the third game included the third legendary into the story and let you catch the original exclusive cover legendaries. In Black in White though, N has to have one, and you have to the have the other, that's just how it was within the lore so unless you reworked that significantly you couldn't have a third game.
You know I completely forget about that side of things. Hmm interesting. anyone think this new Kyurem is going to eb a fusion of your legendary plus your kyurem, or soemthing similar?

Everything about Black and White was great except for the POKEMON.

Seriously B&W have some of the stupidest looking Pokemon by far in the series. They look like they were created by a 10 year old girl and others look like the devs just gave up.

Wtb less cutesy more awesome looking Pokemon in the sequel.
This, I couldn't even finish White because every new Pokemon I came across just looked like a normal species of animal with a cute item of clothing on it like a top hat or a slight change that made it look more 'pokemonish', they got significantly less creative with this generation.

I hope I can catch more than Fifth gen pokemon during the main game instead of the post game.
Personally I preferred that! It stopped my inevitable 'nostalgia; only using Gen 1 or new gen' just out of habit!

Although it did mean once you could get all your old favourites, you then had little you could do with them! :S
Yeah I agree. There were a few cool new ones, but the reason I soldiered on was so I could get a team of gen 1 ones and by the time I did it was like, meh.

http://www.gamesradar.com/pokemon-black-and-white-version-2-announced-ds-out-june-japan/

Fat skinny is the following:
- Set for release in Japan in June
- First true sequel in the Pokemon series
- For the DS (but can be played on the 3DS)
- Above image is Kyurem's new forms, named Black Kyurem and White Kyurem

Thoughts? I can honestly say that I didn't see this coming, and that I await further news on it.
My first thought: Why are they saying that they're going to release Black and White 2? It's been out for years

My second thought: Oh wait, it's a(nother) Pokemon sequel. Interest is waning

My third thought: Waitaminit, aren't all the Pokemon games sequels to the original? Why do they need to add a number to it? And why call it something that can get mixed up with a completely different game?

So yeah, I really don't have any big reaction to it, other than the minor issue with the naming. The Pokemon games for me have been pretty dull since all they really do with each sequel is slap on increasingly unoriginal and redundant Pokemon to the veritable mountain of the dopey buggers. I've no doubt that they're fun, but if I can get effectively the same experience by running an older version of the series for no extra cost, then I don't really have a reason to buy the newer ones do I?.

Don't know about anyone else but imma hoping something Cynthia said in Black and White happens;
"Once every few years, the Champions of each region gather and compete to see who is the strongest! An interesting idea, don't you agree?"

Wouldn't that be awesome? versing all the Champions in one game!

Wow. They actually ran out of colors.
They've been using all sorts of different nouns :p. Wouldn't be surprised if Pokemon Argon comes up soon.

OT: The first direct sequel. Gonna be pretty weird :p. If they can find a way to transfer parties then sure.

While I am excited. I want to say that there has been no actual confirmation on whether it is a sequel or expanded remake like Emerald or Platinum. Just saying this to not get peoples hopes up for it. Thought I do like Zekyurem and Reshyurem, but they are a little doofy.

(p)Oh-come-on.

...I really don't have a problem with the game; I just wanted to use that wordplay.

More seriously, I can only imagine that this means they're working on a new game in the background. Even the title seems somewhat last-minute - I can't remember them ever including a number in a game before. It feels a bit stopgap, but honestly that's probably OK, as it'll sate the fans without intruding on the consciousness of those with interest in more significant iterations.

My only wish from this game is that I may tell a giant anthropomorphic cow to crush common folk beneath its feet. Is that too much to ask?

Is a proper 3D title coming soon, though? Maybe even a truly revolutionary open-world one? One can only hope.

Poor Kyurem. Not only he isn't an Uber, but he doesn't get his own game either. Black and White left quite a few dangling plot threads, so a sequel sounds like a good idea.
That's what it gets for having no moves. It's like a dragon version of flareon. But the direct sequel looks interesting, i'm not sure how I feel about the half man-half woman type versions of kyurem... I'm a symmetry person... Although it looks to me like soon I'll have to just give in and get a 3ds.... -_- sigh Hopefully by then there will be a large game library. Also they need to hurry up and make pokemon snap 2. There. that's what it'll take for me to get a 3ds. Pokemon snap 2.
(also that Zekrom one is totally a slowbro evolution.)

That is the stupidest thing I've seen this week. It'd have been quicker to write, "don't say anything bad about it or else we'll get upset."

Criticism doesn't work by going, "well you've said it loads now, so never mention it again even though you still think it's a problem".
For someone so close to being banned, I would think you could exercise a bit more tact than that.

. . . Huh.

Well, I'm most certainly in the 'didn't see it coming' boat, which is pretty much most of the world.
This is really, really interesting frankly, since they've never done a direct sequel to any pokemon games. Will it have a new 150 pokemon? Will it have a new world? with new characters, gyms, and player characters? I am very, very interested now. :D

Wow... ok! I thought they were going for a full 3D title next? Dissapointing that it doesn't sound to be!
Pokemon games usually lag one system generation behind.
I read elsewhere (cannot remember where...it seems like it was someones opinion too) that they most likely are releasing it on DS instead of the 3DS because the user base for the DS is so large compared to the 3DS, and since the 3DS can play DS games anyways, it makes sense from a sales standpoint.

Hmm. Interesting. I wonder how they're going to handle this.

Being a direct sequel, I hope I can transfer the Pokemon in my Pokemon White team. That would be awesome. Although that would probably add some complications.

Would Pokemon level scale according to your Pokemon team's level? If someone was a new player and didn't play Black or White how would the game react?

I also wonder if it'll do what Gold and Silver did and allow you to travel to the other regions. That would be kinda cool.

Probably won't play it, pretty much lost all interest after Pearl, Diamond, etc.
I didn't even bother playing the original Black and White. I looked at the pokedex and saw an ice cream cone, a chihuahua, a chandelier, and a few more absolutely ridiculous ideas that ruined my enthusiasm completely. I just couldn't be bothered. The Pokemon centre in Tokyo was filled with these crap things too. Pikachu was absolutely everywhere, which is to be expected, but so were these other 'cute' things I've never seen before. And this big fish that looks like it's been squashed was a big hit too. Pokemon are running out of ideas very quickly, and it's disappointing, 'cause I still really enjoy the earlier games and remakes.

I'll wait for more news, but right at this moment, I'm not going to bother with these games.

It'll probably be more like gold and silvers story line with you starting in either another region or another part of unova and finish off a resurgence of team plasma they would have to make you start out as someone else though unless they have it a some sort of plot point like that "other worlds" business that they had at the entralink
