Maybe they can retool Team Magma and Aqua into something that doesn't suck as much. I am really looking forward to this Heart Gold and Soul Silver were AMAZING remakes. So were Fire Red and Leaf Green. I didn't really like Gen 3, but I have faith Game Freak will make into something amazing.

so now that the Pokemon community got their Gen3-remakes, how long does it take for them to cry for Gen4 remakes?

Really excited about these. I just hope they allow you to battle both enemy teams. It always felt awkward fighting for one side in the original Ruby/Sapphire.

As much as I like Steven Stone and Wallace as Elite 4 Champions let's be honest here. Those fucking psychic twins gym leaders should take that spot. That shit was way too fucking OP for a gym battle and 10X harder than the Elite 4 ever was.

It has been years since I played one of the gen 3 Pokemon games but I don't recall having a major problems with the twins who have the moon and sun Pokemon. maybe you did not have a good party set up to handle the type of Pokemon they had? I always take the water type starter Pokemon and there is almost always a dark type Pokemon in my main team when I play Pokemon so I am don't have too much of a problem with vs a rock/psychic type.

If you had a water starter (which by then it would be a Swampert) you had no chance OHKO Solrock or Lunatone and you would promptly get a solar beam to your face and watch your HP vaporize.

If you had a grass starter type you got flamethrowered to death

If you had a Fire starter you will get a psychic to the face and/or Earthquake/rockslide spammed till you died. None of the Pokemon available to you prior to the gym were any real help except for Absol and even then it was pushing it because Absol had a trashy moveset anyway and could barely live with two hits.

It's been a while since I fought them, but I can't recall having dificulties with Lunatone and/or Solrock, either. I used a swampert, which would surf them down. If it didn't knock them out, then they can't have floored me with the solarbeam, as it need an extra turn charging. : P

OT: And now I'll fail all my winter exams.

Ehem... I'll be picking up Alpha Sapphire when it comes out. I liked Regular Sapphire, so I'll be enjoying 3D Sapphire.

Anybody remember how adorably stupid the team leaders were in Ruby & Sapphire? There plans made NO sense.

Aqua's Plans: Steal a submarine, try and decommission an active volcano (????????????????????????????????) so it can fill with rainwater (again, ?????????????????), reawaken an ancient ocean deity to make the week's forecast a 100% chance of rain, leading to the entire continent being flooded and drowning all the people and land pokemon because reasons.

As stupid as those sounds, Magma was even dumber.

Magma's Plans: Steal a submarine despite a life-crippling phobia of water, try and make a volcano erupt in order to create more land in the ocean thats actually a fare amount of distance away (but also killing everyone on the volcano which includes the entirety of team magma and its leader), and reawakening an ancient deity of land in order for to cause total sunshine, causing the ocean water to evaporate (yeah, sure Magma. You do that), killing all the sea pokemon. And then killing all the land pokemon they were trying to help in the process because they'd have nothing to drink. And all the people, too.

Youd have to transfer from 3rd gen to 4th, then from 4th to 5th, and then (assuming remakes are in 6th) in to the poke bank app and then either directly to the remakes or to x/y then to these games.

Somewhat off topic, does any one else think Solrock and Lunastone actually look better as slightly pleated sprites rather than the as the newer HD models. The rougher look suited them in my opinion.

Foolery

No.

Yeah. They were fairly retarded. But, I'm of the opinion that no "Team" antagonist since Rocket has made any sense. Their goals were simple. Steal rare Pokemon, run casinos, and make money.

Flare was even worse. Hey, let's genocide a large part of the population because we don't think they're "pretty".

Also, I did not give a shit about that sad, ancient, viking dude and his dumb Flabébé.

Hopefully they make them suck less. Gen III was the worst.
Gen III was the generation where they made Pokemon by slapping swords onto animals. Your opinion couldn't be more wrong.

Point of order, they didn't want to genocide the world because it wasn't pretty. The leader of Team Flare basically thought that the only way to make it so that there were enough resources for everyone to live comfortably, they would need to depopulate most of the planet. That's why they were hoarding money and material goods. They were basically going to bunker down, wipe out the population, and then rebuild from scratch only now there's no such thing as scarcity. The villain had a whole big rant about how he tried to save the world with his wealth but no matter how much he gave away there was still poverty and inequality and people starving to death in places.

That's not to say this story was told particularly well and yeah AZ was dumb why did they even include that. But the villain's motives were more compelling to me than the other omnicidal maniac cyrus (who just wanted to destroy everything because he's nucking futs)

So to stop large portions of the world from dying he's going to kill off a large portions of the world?.... Was this written by Bioware?

I hope it's more a case of remaking Emerald as Ruby and Sapphire, because I loved the Battle Frontier. That was the one thing I found bad about X and Y - nothing to do after the endgame. With the Battle Frontier shown in, that's a lot to play about with post-League, just as it was in Platinum.

Judging but SS/HG I would imagine they would be doing the Battle Frontier, however i think the rest will likely be as it was in ruby and sapphire with the exclusive legendaries and criminal teams.
Also I think the reason X/Y had little post game was because of the improved online feature... but yh they should have had something to do post game other than preparing for competitive online.
