They probably won't. This release is more for honoring Pokemon's 30th anniversary than anything else.

The main reason is to celebrate the 30th anniversary of Pokemon. Hence why the games are being released on February so they can be released on the exact same day it was released in Japan. Pokemon Z is also a shoe-in next year so that is where the series will actually move forward.
OT: Asides from Pokemon Yellow, none of those games have really stood up. I mean, I guess it might wake up a few Gen I elitists but I'll probably get Yellow for its quirkiness then wait for Z and the real Pokemon sequel.
