Part of that is due to the fact that the game was updated to a point where the gameplay didn't feel dated. I went back and played yellow version and I can tell you that it's a terribly dated game. It has shit balance and is terrible glitchy and exploitable, and most pokemon had terrible movesets. This stuff was ironed out in the GSC and RSE eras which is why they don't feel dated.Matthew94 said:Yeah, they still feel modern.GiantRaven said:The thought of remaking Ruby/Saffire is strange to me. They don't feel like old games, at least not in the same way the Red/Blue and Gold/Silver did at the time of their respective remakes.
Ruby and Sapphire are odd games, the world seems different with things like the secret base and the expanded water areas.
Another reason the RSE era doesn't feel dated was due to the fact that the games are still close enough to this era to be similar in gameplay.
