I hope the 'call an ally' thing doesn't return in the next game.

I'm still loving the game, slowly plodding through it in my spare time. My latest complaint is that it seems like no one can learn False Swipe. I had to put it on my decidueye which i did not want to do.
Your starter can't learn it?

EDIT: I taught it to Spearow.

I've played a few hours so far and I'm not too fussed by the tutorials. I've played a good number of the pokemon games before (Blue, Yellow, Crystal, Sapphire, Diamond, Black, White 2) but have certainly not played every game. And most of the tutorials are either super short with a little cut scene thrown in (aka teaching how to catch) or about features I've personally not seen before like the camera.

They've certainly made the game more accessible for people like me who won't be playing it solid for a week. The addition of goal markers mean I can still know where to go after a break (and even where to avoid if I want to train up and explore a little before moving the plot along!), the little notes about move effectiveness mean I don't have to memorize a huge table of type advantages. I also really like the refresh feature. I always loved caring for my team and it seems more natural to care for your critters after each battle to me.

I know I still have a lot to discover but I have actively avoided learning too much about the games because I want to discover everything. I think the only thing I checked was where I can get my beloved Growlithe.

This is the first time I ever played a Pokemon game in my life.
I can certainly I enjoy it so far. I am very curious to see the other creature the trailers hinted.

I'm really liking the game but I hate the "call for help" mechanic. I had to fight like 6 zubats in one encounter.
If I recall correctly if you kill the original the chain stops but I might be misremembering that.
Nope! Just chained a shiny Rockruff and I can confirm that the original is irrelevant in keeping the chain going.

Yup, same.

My Yungoos and Grubbin are already out, why should my starter be getting the undivided experience of 3 Mudbrays by spamming Razor Leaf?

I think I might need to turn on the Exp. Share.
