Funny story.
That's what happens when you don't have proper ventilation in your lab. It's hard to compare the value of a used xbox to drug profits, when your brain has melted.

Of course. Two old ladies, upon hearing this, are about to nod meaningfully to eachother when they here the Xbox detail, now aren't they?

A search found chemicals commonly used to make crank.
Crank? Is this a new drug I haven't heard of yet? Or a misspelling of 'crack'?

On topic: Excellent news. It's good to know that the police can catch a lucky break every now and then.
Crank is methamphetamine called Crank because in the united states bikers use to smuggle it into the country in the crank cases of their motorcycles

Can't this like, not happen? I mean if the neighbor was smart she would have asked for a warrant then this wouldn't have happened. The way I understand it warrants give police permission to search a specified area for a specified thing. If the neighbor just said "sure, search my house" then this would fly and the neighbor would be an idiot.
The "large white chemical cloud" that enveloped the cop as the door was opened gave him reasonable cause to investigate.

Wow, sucks to be that kid. Guess he won't get his XBOX back.

On the other hand, the thief gets to rot behind bars anyway. sounds good to me.

Everybody knows that Xboxes are critical to the success of a proper meth lab. They're like the laughing Buddha statues in Chinese restaurants.

Firstly, the neighbor in question is a METH ADDICT. So, we can assume right off the bat that we aren't dealing with the brightest bulb on the tree.

Secondly, yes warrants allow the police to search for a specified item(s), so if they are searching for a stolen 50" plasma TV, they can't look in you silver ware drawer.

HOWEVER, if, while searching for the TV, they see something else illegal out in the open, they are allowed to confiscate it, and later, charge you for possesion of it.

This is like opening a chest at level 1 in on Oblivion and finding full Glass armour.

It is pretty owned though, to get caught for stealing an x-box, but not owning a meth lab...

Did the investigators look something like this?

I couldn't imagine anyone else uncovering that from a simple investigation.

My 360 just got stolen last week, and no way would the police around here investigate a stolen Xbox, even when I gave them the phone numbers and addresses of who did it. Not only that, but my Ds and all my games. Feels bad, man. At least someone got their justice.

And Fox will be the loudest voice of all.

OT: I guess meth screws up people's brains more than I thought it did (I knew it messed people up a lot, but I wasn't expecting anyone to be THAT stupid).

Hahha I always laugh at the people who do stuff like cook meth, d'you know there are more steps/chemicals involved in making meth than there are in making cocaine? seriously.
And meth is worth waaay less for more risk.
And why go to this kind of risk anyways? why not just mission impossible a casino counting room with some thermite and a handful of minions?? your gonna go to jail for the same amount of time.

This reminds of when the police raided my house to find a stolen ps2 and found the portal to the fifth circle of hell instead.

I probably should have put a towel over it or something.

The only way this could be more epic:

<Police #1 knocks on door of suspect>

Police #1: Excuse me Miss Gibson, I'm with the- THAT'S MICHAELANGELO'S DAVID! YOU'RE CARMEN SAN DIEGO?

Edit: Punchline changed. Didn't want to get into trouble.
