I love the fact that the Mayans could accurately predict the end of the world but not the Aztec/Spanish buttfuck which wiped them out. Its like asking if Nostradamus could predict the lottery numbers, but he cant because specific predictions are always wrong and facepalms for everyone who believes this bollocks.

The Mayan long count calender resets in 2012, it doesn't end. Anyone who Didn't Do The Research and believes the hysteria is a fool and helps prove my point that humans are ignorant as a mass and thus highly dangerous to themselves. Above that, years and dates are arbitrary labels we give to mark our passage through time. We could have adopted a totally different calender and then 2012 would mean shit to us. Granted we could measure it against the Mayans' one and that the Mayans probably didn't used the figures "2 0 1 2" on their calenders, but you get my drift. Time is a dimension we move through, not the bringer of doom. Physical objects, physics, chemistry, biology...these can bring doom. Calenders and prophecies cannot.

The Mayans didn't predict anything. Their calendar was created around year 12 and they never bothered to count past 2000.

Now, what you do have to worry about it the super volcanos, the mega earthquakes, the meteor storm and the giant hurricanes all scheduled between 2012 and 2014.

If you don't know you need to watch more discovery and science channel.

Not to mention the Ouija board said that I'm going to die August 24 2014. Which sucks because that's my friend's 24th birthday

SPOILER(kinda),So by now everyone has seen at least some of what the movie 2012 is gonna look like how the main character has insight on government plans for evacuation in 2012 end of the world bs. Looks like a cool movie, until nut jobs start mainling in to nasa that they want to know the truth about when the world is gonna end.

I was watching cnn and they were talking with a scientist about the fears, concerns, and threats from people concerning 2012. Nasa even bothered to putin a section on their website just to inform people about all the 2012 shit that is actually gonna happen. I'd kinda like to know does anybody on this site perscribe to this? If the end of the world was somehow proved to be soon would you rather kill yourself before it happened? And astrobiologist does that sound like the coolest job or what?

I'm just going to buy an M4, just to keep looters and nut cases away.

I bought mine and all the ammo I need a year before the Obama rush. I got a great deal. May I suggest the Bushmaster brand. That is what I have and it functions flawlessly. It is the A2 model, not the A3. The A3 is easier to adopt optics. But a M4 is a short/medium range weapon. Iron sights are fine. They also don't break from impact as easily as optics.
