Well since the 3d glasses are very difficult to keep on and in the correct distance from my eyes while using my own glasses it would be quite irritating to play such a game and yes I need my glasses to see the monitor...

I really despise those glasses you need to wear, so no, I'll stick with current graphics given the choice.

Smell sounds awesome until you realize that the predominant smell in many games would be "charred human flesh".

Awww I was going to :)

3d game presentation is nothing new. I had a gfx card with 3d glasses back in 2002 with the GeForce4Ti. You just need a monitor with a seriously high refresh rate (>=100Hz), which is not far off either (I think this has been the restrictive aspect on the technology to date).

I'd expect to see it becoming a standard part of the game in the next year or so. As for the quality - I've never tried it but the glasses aren't too bulky from my experience.

It's a gimmick. It's not worth the time and effort from the games industry.
Yes, it is a gimmick - but it's really not that big an implementation issue - you're simply providing two camera views instead of one on the same world. I can't imagine a software house would find that difficult. Of course there's a 50% hit on the level of graphics, but with the latest cards you can still carry it off...
