The website is pretty good. /b/ is alright for a cheap laugh, and the other boards are better then a lot of aspects on here. A fuckload less elitist that's for sure. When I go there I don't have to worry about some stuck up member thinking he's an intellectual trying to berate others.

Best I know, the servers are based in America. That's why they've really clamped down on certain content since a certain child porn law was passed.

It's actually incredible the speed that the mods work on 4chan, literally an CP image will be up for 5 seconds max. Great thin, honestly can handle the gore, furres, guro and weird fetishes but CP is a step too far for me. I might have a quick google but you sound right so I might just trust you on that

I've been browsing 4chan off and on for years. Not all boards = /b/

The anonymity creates unfiltered conversations with nothing but pure emotion, and the coldest of logic all together at once. It can indeed turn into nothing but meme spewing, hate festering piles of filth. But Still, there are genuinely good, honest discussions on a range of topics. And honestly some of the best friends I've made on the internet have come from that site. The people there always manage to surprise me in some new way, and that's why I keep going back.

There are other boards on there.

It's somewhere between a chat room and a forum really.
If you avoid /b/, you may like it.
If you go to /b/, you will either love it or hate it, I mean there is SO MUCH crap there, but if you don't mind crap, or enjoy flinging crap around then go ahead, it's why it's there.

Everyone I know who goes to /b/ goes there to troll, I assume it's really just "nothing but trolls" board really. And that can be fun if you're into that sort of thing.

Actually, I only once was on the site, and either I didn't dig deep enough or was just lucky, but what I saw was far less gruesome than some people seem to depict it. It's revolting, yeah, but come on, I do with them what I'd do with a brat on the train ride into town: If it annoys me, ignore it, it doesn't interest me and I don't have any business with it.

Hell, I'm on /v/ right now. I don't love it per se, but I don't hate it either. Granted, I do have it bookmarked. I honestly think anyone who says its terrible is just exaggerating because of a few pornographic pictures they saw on /b/. But, that's just my opinion. It's neither right nor wrong.
