4chan's fucking hilarious, some of the absolute comedy gems are on 4chan, and since I'm completely unoffendable (by pictures at least) I can scroll straight past the crap without having to claw my eyes out XD
I have absolutely no idea what you are saying. Putting letters in // marks doesn't help anyone's understanding. But let me tell you. Whatever that "/b/" stuff is you are talking about, that is why people hate 4chan. It doesn't matter how good the other content is, having that kind of low life, child porn, ect stuff makes the site disgusting. So is everyone else. Take nothing to heart (even CP). It's a place to troll and bullshit. There is cancer (ignore it) and wasted thread space. Though you stick with it and you be hooked.
I see 4chan as a necessary evil. Sure, there's more gay porn there than an actual gay porn site, but they come up with some excellent memes for the rest of the internet. Not to mention creepypasta; I would be able to sleep regularly if it wasn't for /x/! Where's the fun in that?
4chan is just people being people; it's the closest we'll ever get to completely unbiased interaction free of social norms between humans.

I think its cause because anytime something low and dumb goes on in an organized attack, it starts from 4Chan. Thats not to say other sites dont do that, but I've never heard the escapist do that. But like i said, I'm indifferent to it.

4chan is a good candidate for most mis-labelled, slandered site on the web. They always show up the news as super-hackers or cyber-terrorists. really they just operate on an extremely bizzare set of morals.
Where's the 'indifferent' option? I occasionally head over there for /wg/. I don't really think you can bundle the entire 4chan community together though, there's too many of them to be just one pack under the 4chan name.

It's not that I dislike 4chan, it's that I hate Anonymous and everything they represent. Since 4chan is the usual staging ground for Anonymous, that means the site gets a large part of my ire. If Anonymous went somewhere else I probably wouldn't even think about 4chan that much, but as it stands it registers as this source of general annoyance at internet culture.

Thats a weird thing to choose as the indifferent option. But thats probably cause when you hear about it, its bad stuff that the 4chan community did and it riles up Escapists who like to be riled or are easily riled.nickd007 said:

I actually kinda get angry with people when I tell them about a joke from the internet, and they immediately dismiss it as "One of those disgusting 4chan things." or "Is this from 4chan, 'cause I hate that website..."
4chan is a huge forum, just because /b/ has the reputation, doesn't make the rest of 4chan bad...

/b/ is the source of all the bad opinions people have about 4chan. The rest is pretty decent.
Either way, 4chan is a vestment of freedom of expression. Being anonymous leaves people without fear to express ideas and share their darkest secrets with the world, with no consequences. This is healthy, and vital to democracy.
