I was bored and after watching Rebecca Mayes' song about Ghostbusters I thought I'd give a shot at writing a song. However I realised I have no rhythm at all so here's a sonnet in stead.

A sonnet it a 14 line poem, each line has ten syllable and a rhyme scheme that goes A B A B C D C D E F E F G G (I.E the lines that are represented by the letter A will rhyme

Also this is a Shakespearian sonnet

To My little sister

I'm Sorry about killing your daddy
But hey! This is Rapture that's how it goes
I'm not to blame, Ryan's the real baddy
under the waves there is nothing but lows
Take pride, Dad took fifteen electric bucks
And a frag grenade to his metal face
Rather me then a splicer in a tux
It's not your fault at all; wrong time wrong place
Now here's the choice do I harvest or save
Nobility or genetic power
Please don't cry I won't send you to your grave
Just Ryan left who sits in his tower
You have my word I'll break Andrew's great chain
And maybe Rapture can be whole again

Well there it is, what did you think I'm eager for feedback.

EDIT; If this is well received I do plan to do some more, I've got ideas for one about the N64 and the Wii, A half-life 2 one, A legend of zelda one, dynsaty warriors, maybe Halo. Most of these exist as one opening line I came up with and liked (at the moment)

I am not a great judge of poetry or anything but I enjoyed it, perhaps you should do these with other games that you like and compile them.

That was quite fun actually. Well done. Although in your notes, you neglected to mention that what you wrote was a Shakespearian Sonnet. A Petrarchan Sonnet has an entirely different rhyme scheme.

Well I'm defiantly up for more. I won't be able to give a set time for the next one, shouldn't be too long but I'm trying to think of a decent next game to do.

I'd rather read your poetry than watch another Rebbecca Mayes video...

I mean I'll watch her a couple more times to see if something drastically awesome happens but my hopes are not high for that.

Keep it up :)

Why wasn't this in my GCSE Literature Anthology!?! Grade A would be ensured.

Funny you should mention that, if it wasn't for the GCSE Literature Anthology I wouldn't have read shakespeare's sonnet 130, wouldn't have written my own love sonnet for my coursework, wouldn't have realised I quite like them and the bioshock one above wouldn't be here. Hurrah a GCSE actually having a use in the real world (if the escapist counts as the real world)
