SO I am watching Season 5 of The Twilight Zone (my brother got me into it) and as I watch the Menu intro (you know, before you can actually select special features or play or options the menus have a little intro) and this clown (looks like he's holding something) says "Who are we!?" and I'm just wondering what episode it's from.

Also why don't they have good shows like these anymore or shows like The Twilight Zone in general, you know, a "serial" I think they call it, a show with a certain theme but with different stories every week (like The Twilight Zone) Also how many of you Escapists like The Twilight Zone?

Well it's interesting enough, I liked the episode where the coon hunter and his dog died and the dog stopped the hunter from going to hell. Overall, I'd approve, however I don't watch much of it as the black and white colors and the poor sound quality get at me in large doses.

I remember that episode, that was a good one (that IS the one where the hunter is walking down a path right and he comes upon this man who tries to get him through the gate?) Also really!? But the black and white are the icing on the cake! There's just something about black and white movies (or shows) that just seem more real to me

Yeah that was the one, and my problem with the low quality is it tears at me if I watch too much, and the low quality production plus my low quality TV makes my eyes hurt after a while.
That being said I know what you mean the the realisticness, that's because this was before good video editing so they can't airbrush and alter everything. It's kinda like with the daytime drama, just watching them compared to something, lets say house for example. Between the two you can tell which one seems more real to the amount of video editing.

I've seen a few episodes; I thought it was enjoyable enough.
I'd like to get my hands of some more of it.

tsk tsk, bumps are big no nos...

I like the twilight zone, I'm not a big fan, I haven't watched it that much but there are a few classics I enjoy.

Depends on the episode. Some are good, some are crap.
What ones do you like?
Jeez, I haven't watched it in such a long time. I have a hard time remembering many beyond the big ones, y'know, Nightmare at 20000 Feet, To Serve Man, Eye of the Beholder, etc. Beyond those and a few others I only really remember the christmas episode where a bum became Santa(which was okay) and the one where aliens arrive and cause the electricity to go out on a street(which I didn't like too much). I should probably go back and watch some more sometime, but I still have MST3K to get through at the moment.

I love The Twilight Zone and you're right, they just don't make 'em like they used to.
Nightmare at 20,000 feet, It's a good Life and The Living Doll are particular favourites.

You really shouldn't bump and I think the clown is from season 5 last episode. I also like it.

It was a good show. I haven't watched it in years though. They tried to remake it fifteen, twenty years ago. It was horrible.

Stephen King wrote about it fairly in depth in his book "Danse Macabre". He talked about how and why the scare factor worked in the series, and it's impact on later horror and sci-fi shows, and how to used the different horror archetypes.

If you like The Twilight Zone, the you should also like The Outer Limits, both the old and the new versions. The Outer Limits concentrated a little bit more on the sci-fi side, and was great.

The only twilight zone episode I remember with a clown in it was one where a solider, a dancer, a clown, and maybe someone else were all trapped in a small room... Yep, I think that's it because I did a search for the episode title and figured it out. It's not the clown who says it but one of the other characters in the scene (The solider says it to the clown). The title of the episode is "Five characters in search of an exit."

I personally find it strange because while I liked the old twilight zone and hated the new one I think the opposite of the outer limits. I didn't like the old one but love the new one.

One of my favorite episodes is where the crew of a space ship finds out they died, but the captain can't accept that, so they repeat the same events over and over again. Come to think of it, there's a lot of episodes that end with the characters repeating the exact same events for eternity.

Oh, I agree, the newer Outer Limits were. But I suggested the old ones 'cause he seems to have a thing for black and white.

You mean you didn't like "The Monsters are Due on Maple Street"??? That was like one of the most awe inspiring you know, because it's true, it's one of those very few episodes that doesn't need a twist ending (well I guess it was a bit of a twist) to be good, the moral of it was good enough
