Poll: According to my peers, PC gaming is inferior to consoles.

One is not superior to the other. PC Gamers are usually the ones to say that they have the superior system, and they are wrong. When console gamers say they have the superior system, they are also wrong. It's typical fanboyism. It's the console wars, but with slightly different parameters.

The difference is that PC Gamers usually insult consoles gamers personally, usually insulting their intelligence.

You can see why, right?

Since console reach out to a larger audience, that means retards also are brought into the system.

OT yeah PC gaming is better than Console gaming - Consoles are little more than PC's with more limited functionality on old hardware, but at a cheaper price with a focus on a far simpler "Put the disk in and play" system.

PC gaming offers superior graphical fidelity, higher resolutions, smoother more stable gameplay, modding, third party programs to improve certain functionality (better VOIP for example), Multiplayer games often support a higher number of players, MMO's run far better on PC's, Strategy games are actually feasible on PC's...I could go on but you get the picture. The downside being that PC's require a considerably larger financial investment and expertise to get the best out of them.

Consoles - Cheap, easy, reasonable performance
PC's - Expensive, expertise needed, excellent performance.

It really comes down to your what you want and how much money and time you're willing to invest to get what you want.

PC gamers, however, are not superior to Console gamers.

I'm going to find it hard to believe your own insecurity is shared by most people who play video game consoles (I certainly didn't experience any before I ended up building a capable PC). Wait, which one has the superior controls again? If you play FPS, RTS, or adventures, a PC's keyboard+mouse combo is better; for all else, a good gamepad (meaning: no Sony DualShit) or arcade stick wins by far. Except if you have a more genre-specific controller, such as a flight stick or a driving wheel.

I'm a PC gamer and I'd like to shed some light on this issue. PC as a platform is superior to consoles from a hardware point of view. Everything your console does, PC can do. Sure, there are some console exclusive games that you can't play on PC. But that's not PC's fault. There are some PC exclusives as well that could work on a console but developers and publishers choose not to release them on a console.
However, PC gaming is not superior to console gaming, and vice versa. In the end it all comes down to personal preference.

Not really. This generation of consoles has adopted USB, but for anything older, you'll need an adapter.

Apples/Oranges. Both different, both possessing strengths and flaws. Speaking from a purely technical standpoint PCs are better, but there are multiple factors involved beyond technical specs. For my money, the machine with the best selection of exclusive titles usually wins out.

I've always thought the same way about things, but PC games are starting to lose their exclusiveness, and that troubles me, because that means PC's are just gonna get console ports, leaving either modders, or hackers to fix it up to make it a PC worthy game, dev's / publishers think they can throw an orange-apple at a PC, but it only runs well with apples. (I'm looking at YOU, Skyrim, thinking you can have screwed up keyboard / mouse controls and CPU based instead of GPU based shadows that make my computer lag.)
