Not a fan of either.

And Doomsday? WTF? I just listened to that--it's a cover of Michael Jackson. A hard rock cover of MJ. Wow... just wow. Never thought I'd hear the day. Not a fan of that, either. Well... if I got the right video. Heh. No idea.

Edit: okay, so Doomsday is the name of a trailer. Just got that. Despite visiting this site daily, I'm not up to date on video game news. However... I'm not a fan of dubstep, so... I stand by what I said.

Where's my "I dislike all of them" option?
Doomsday is also the name of the song, not just the trailer.
So this IS the full song? See, I wouldn't know because I couldn't listen to it.

That...Was painful.

And oh, Ain't No Rest For The Wicked, if I can't have the Lion King.

I like 'Ain't No Rest for the Wicked and 'Doomsday', the new track doesn't really do it for me. Not enough action in the song to reflect the mood of Borderlands.

Short Change Hero is on my MP3 player, while Ain't No Rest for the Wicked, honestly, didn't do anything for me at all, and doesn't do anything for me now.

I'd vote for Short Change Hero also because it is completely badass, makes you feel like a desperado. Well, it makes me feel like a desperado.

The description of that video says that that's not the song. With your post count I can't assume your trolling, so I'm just posting the actual song:

The original song for "Doomsday" Is "Somebody's Watching Me" by Rockwell. And yes that is Michael Jackson singing the chorus.

The second one had a nice groove going till the vocals started up.

Oh dear lord, what the hell? Is that a guy singing falsetto?

Gimme the first song all day, eryday!

It just fit better with the game and 1 person in particular, T.K Baha.

When you first meet him he is sat on a veranda, like some old western hillbilly ... that song "Ain't no rest for the wicked" just fits that scene!
Yeah, that's what I thought. I just can't take that second song seriously with that voice. It's not as bad in some places, but gah...

I voted No Rest myself. I think it's catchier and gets the point across better.

For Borderlands specifically, Ain't No Rest For The Wicked. Short Change Hero worked a lot better when it was in the trailer for Arkham City

Still love both of the songs though. Just Ain't No Rest For The Wicked works better for Borderlands.

Everything I wanted to say.

Short Change Hero is a weird choice.

Ain't No Rest for the Wicked beats Short Change Hero. It fits the game's feel better, and I like Cage the Elephant more as a band anyways. I've heard plenty of both bands, but I much prefer CTE. Short Change Hero just feels too smooth and compressed, while Ain't No Rest for the Wicked feels more raw and gritty. As much as these seem like meaningless buzz-words, I think that's why Cage the Elephant's song works better.

None of them!

This is clearly superior.
Ahhh, I already came in here wondering why that wasn't an option - but it seems not everyone forgot.

If I'd have to choose though I'd say I personally prefer Short Change Hero, but Ain't No Rest for the Wicked really is Borderlands in a nutshell.

Definitely No Rest for the Wicked.

Short Change Hero sounds like a serious tonal shift. No Rest fit the light-hearted, romp with friends vibe the first game had. The second game looks like more of the same, so Short Change Hero seems out of place.
Definitely agreed.

My favourite, though, HAD to be "No Heaven".

My personal vote goes to Ain't No Rest For The Wicked. The song tonally fits into the idea of the Borderlands series much better, that idea being the players are dirty space-cowboys who came to an abandoned planet in search of riches. Granted, Short Change Hero may fit Borderlands 2 better than Ain't No Rest, but the idea of getting rich through an abandoned planet still seems to be a theme within Borderlands 2.

"Ain't no rest for the wicked" definitely captures the spirit of the world. But between the two themes they picked for the trailers to the sequel "Wimoweh", because it captures the humour.

To me, it's not about the song, but how the song is presenting the characters. In Borderlands, Cage the Elephant tells you all you need to know about your characters. They aren't any better people than the bandits they are slaughtering, but they are still your player characters. Things like greed as their motivations is only conveyed afterwards when you open chests, but they don't really get the chance to speak for themselves.

I don't know the BL2 cast yet, but from what I understand is happening, they are going to have to be heroes, even if they don't want to be. They are a new class of characters, and with them, we need a new class of song to introduce them. And from what I've seen of Handsome Jack, Pandora is no place for a hero, because it's too damn hazardous.

I'm very disappointed by the lack of Cage The Elephant. Their gritty rock style fit Borderlands perfectly. I wish they would have just kept Ain't No Rest For The Wicked.
