SW:TOR is going to easily take the crown as #1 MMO though. Largest game development budget of any game EVER. Almost a billion $! That's more than WoW has invested since launch.
This is not true. WoW has invested much, much more since launch. 5 years of server upkeep, employee salary, and 2 expansions equates to a whole lot of dough.

I also don't think The Old Republic has even the slightest chance of overtaking WoW for #1 MMO, though out of the ones that are coming or out now, I think it looks the best.

Sounds like you're the one who sucks, since you seem to be under the strange impression that item drops rates have anything to do with player ability.

Since when did I have trouble? Mobs just take too long to kill and combat is boring. Also not related to player ability.

Stupid fanboy.
I think he's a troll personally. But anyway back on topic. I don't think anything could topple the giant mountain of gold that is World of Warcraft. It has such a huge fanbase that at this point the only thing that can kill it is itself.

"Mobs are very tough and take a long time to kill compared to WoW. You have to rest or heal after every battle or every second battle. Some regular mobs are so tough that even when they're one level above you they'll still kill you even if you use all your abilities and a healing potion that restores almost all of your HP."

Even when one level above they still kill you?
i've never had it happen, in fact i often attack mobs 1 level higher.
guess what...i've died once...and thats because i attacked something GROTESQUELY higher in level then i was...
I.E. u = noob.

ALSO the combat is EXACTLY THE SAME AS WOW'S!
OMG in fact its EXACTLY THE SAME AS MANY MANY MANY RPG'S!!
if anything its actually smoother, allowing for same button combo's and on screen combo pressing ability.

my advice
-----------
1)get a life and stop trolling
2)stfu about anyone being a fan boy and then walking into a Aion post and showing off your WoW fanboy mannerisms.
3) kindly gtfo of my forum.
4) have a nice day

Oh it's true all right.

Do the math, i DARE YOU. research it yourself.

How much did WoW cost to develop. theeeeen, look at their quarterly reports ever since. expenses include maintenance, salaries, development costs, hell even rent & utilities on their offices. All of that adds up to around $350 million. I did the math once. Thats including initial dev costs + EVERYTHING since launch until activision merged w/ them (which made it very hard to track since they bundle shit w/ activision in the financials).

Kindly look at who posted the thread....that would be me...

mobs may only be tough because you've played to much Wow and are to used to everything being un-challenging.

fine then call me a fanboy
however you are also a fanboy
there for you have no grounds to stand upon.

much less smooth?
i've played both
so i know that that is in fact un-true, though i suppose its is opinion and i guess i'll have to respect that.

also i have played plenty, i've played ever since the first closed beta was out...so i've been around aion for a while now...

Nothing, save for the fall of humanity itself, will kill WoW. It has grown too powerful.

Every time a new MMO comes out, WoW traffic goes down considerably. Many people try out the new MMO for a bit, but most go back to WoW. Blizzard is just so entrenched in the market, they don't have to do any work to recruit people. They can expend all their resources into putting out new content, rather that recruiting new people, or fixing issues, or adding a lot of new features.

I don't know how many of you remember when WoW came out, but by the standards of new MMO's coming out, it was pretty bad. Not very many servers, frequent connection problems, and many of the features newer WoW players take for granted weren't there.

WoW doesn't have to deal with any of that anymore, it's already established. Newer MMO's, however, still have to go through the birthing pains of startup, and many players aren't going to be as willing to stick it out when there's an established, (comparatively) problem-free MMO just around the corner.

Personally, I think it's a pity, because after playing WoW since release, it was nice to jump into AoC and WAR, and get a whole new world and experience. Unfortunately, though, the player base doesn't stick around long, and it likely won't for Aion, either.

Not only is this not your forum, but even this thread isn't yours.
But. . the thread is his.
Technically its owned by the same people who own the forum, they could just delete it without giving him a second thought and remove him from the forums completely if they wanted. It's more like space we're allowed to use that doesn't belong to anyone.

But really none of that has anything to do with this discussion so.... carry on!

I personally find Aion to be better than WoW.

However, I've only played the 10 day trial of WoW, and the public beta of Aion. So my opinion doesn't count.

The only thing that could even challenge it is Star Wars: The Old Republic. And that will probably be the first MMO in a while to be good in its own merits, instead of being judged as a WoW clone.

Aside from the fact that WoW is simply too big to be beat by ANY game, Aion sure as hell isn't the game to do it. Although it's a fun little game (I'm a player myself) there is virtually NOTHING about it that makes it really stand out from other fantasy MMOs. It's a fairly generic and grindtastic K-style MMORPG with fairly limited options with regard to customising your character (not physically, gameplay-wise). Fun, yes, and I'm playing it rather than even touching WoW, but not even CLOSE to being good enough to beat WoW. If Guild Wars (still the best fantasy MMO I've ever played) couldn't beat WoW, no game can.

I looked at the wrong name. Even so, it makes no difference.

mobs may only be tough because you've played to much Wow and are to used to everything being un-challenging.
They are not challenging, they are just fucking boring and tiresome to kill (also, there is plenty of challenge in WoW). The boring combat would be somewhat acceptable if there was some reason to play the game, but there isn't.

fine then call me a fanboy
however you are also a fanboy
there for you have no grounds to stand upon.
Haha. A fanboy of what, exactly?

also i have played plenty, i've played ever since the first closed beta was out...so i've been around aion for a while now...
Then I guess you're just exceptionally clueless.

Lol and you're exceptionally thick.
i'm done with this.
i clean my hands of this stupidity.
