So aion online has been called the "killer of WoW" in for many reasons. I've played both and personally i think Aion could pull it off. I really dont care if Aion is almost a mirror image of WoW, i feel it takes what WoW created and then fixes all its flaws >8] I think its about time somebody stepped up to the plate and told WoW to go **** itself. though i may just be talking through my teeth because i'm a graphics whore (i.e. i likey teh pretty screenies) and Aion is runnin with the help of crytek. So anyone else think Aion Can pull it off?
Any game sold as a "[Insert game here] Killer" loses my interest immediately. I've never seen it happen, and it really just says that people are stuck for trying to find another way to hype the game.

WoW is already dead. It's just a mindless, soulless corpse that continuous to wander the Earth.

WoW already has a solid fan/player-base, most ppl playing has friends in the game, and they've invested a lot of time in it.

Aion has none of these things, so even if it was going to win easily had they launched at the same day, it's not gonna topple WoW... Unless it comes with a monthly blowjob to compensate for the fee or something.

Poll?

Aion is a better game, WoW is a more popular game?

Point?

They're both extremely similar at any rate.

Don't really see that it matters anyway, the people who do want a game to 'kill' WoW probably aren't playing WoW anyway so it's not like they have anything to gain from such. It is a little bothersome how a lot of people seem to -need- a justification to spend their money elsewhere. If you want to play Aion, go play Aion! You don't need a popular MMO to crash just so another one can be proclaimed 'best thing evar!!!' before you go play it...skk.

Aion wins for me, as I've played WoW since launch and have been trying to find something else to occupy my attention MMO wise for a while. I ditched a private WoW server for Champions Online, but quickly ditched Champions for Aion and am having a blast with it.

I have no clue what you're talking about having to rest every 1-2 fights, maybe if you can't control your pulls? I've played a Templar, Gladiator, Spirit Master and Chanter up to 20's so far and am in a Legion with many others who are in their 30's and none of us have experienced resting after every pull past the first 10 levels when you haven't even chosen your MAIN class.

Mobs are indeed harder then WoW, but I find them to be much more interesting and imaginative. I'm personally enjoying it quite a bit and my wife is as well. Even WoW's latest expansion isn't enticing me to go back to that beast. It's just more of the same.

OT though, Aion will by no means bring down WoW. Even Everquest 1 still has players. WoW won't die until they bring down the servers. For me though, it died a while ago.

I have to say I do not understand people who have problems in Aion with getting equipment, crafting, loot drop rates, money, and battles. I have had no problems with these whatsoever in Aion.

I have equipment for the next 10 levels which I got from quests and special mob drops. If people arent getting them from quests, if just makes me wonder what list of quests they arent doing.

For craft and loot items, I have also had no problem with these. Sure there is a possibility for crafting failure and with later items that might be expensive, but, is that not a risk in any MMO?

And I am able to play through many battles without break. Healing items are also cheap enough so having them is not a problem. For the people who have problems with multiple battles and generally with mob difficulty, have you been playing the Beta, where they were fine tuning things like difficult and drop rates? If not, can you post a video of how you play? It would be interesting to see this because I dont know how this problem happens.

Ok and now just for being completely off-topic, why does everyone say WAR failed? Sure it didn't kill WOW but it's running just fine, getting new updates and offering a most-awesome PVP experience? Kinda pisses me off to see people bash WAR like that... i like that game!!!

no you indulgent "noob" (for lack of a better word)
if your having any trouble killing any party of enemy's the i really dont know what your doing wrong...cause like i said...its easy as fuck...lol...l2pk.
Since when did I have trouble? Mobs just take too long to kill and combat is boring. Also not related to player ability.

Stupid fanboy.
"Mobs are very tough and take a long time to kill compared to WoW. You have to rest or heal after every battle or every second battle. Some regular mobs are so tough that even when they're one level above you they'll still kill you even if you use all your abilities and a healing potion that restores almost all of your HP."

Even when one level above they still kill you?
i've never had it happen, in fact i often attack mobs 1 level higher.
guess what...i've died once...and thats because i attacked something GROTESQUELY higher in level then i was...
I.E. u = noob.

ALSO the combat is EXACTLY THE SAME AS WOW'S!
OMG in fact its EXACTLY THE SAME AS MANY MANY MANY RPG'S!!
if anything its actually smoother, allowing for same button combo's and on screen combo pressing ability.

my advice
-----------
1)get a life and stop trolling
2)stfu about anyone being a fan boy and then walking into a Aion post and showing off your WoW fanboy mannerisms.
3) kindly gtfo of my forum.
4) have a nice day
I think you'll find that post was made by the fellow above my original post.

...if you call terribly unbalanced factions and one side dominating EVERY server "most-awesome" then yes, you are playing the right game, haha.

Aoin online will wither and die, just like every other shitty WoW clone that's been and gone since the start of that fabled mumorpugger (I like the sound)

Well I don't know, this game looks really good in my opinion, play WoW myself though and it is really fun and entertaining, so I am not sure if Aion will actually take out WoW, or just take away a fraction of the WoW population

Nevertheless, I actually plan on buying/playing this game briefly to see how it is.

nothing will kill WoW

you could take 60% of WoW's player base away, and it would still be a rousing success.

No- and it says something that even you think that Aion is a WoW clone.
But, it is an amost unashamed wow clone. Sure there are some new features that WoW doesn't have and tweaks here and there, but the same can be said of many of the major post WoW MMOs.

I don't think there is anything wrong with that per se - I think WoW is a solid game in most respects. The vastly superior art style and graphics are as good a reason as any to switch to the game.

Unfortunately, the graphics alone will be what keeps it from killing WoW. WoW is successful largely because it is a game that can be played on almost any computer - the same can hardly be said for Aion.
