I used to play for a few months then quit for half a year. Went through several such cycles, quit the last near the end of TBC (a year ago if I recall correctly). I still pop into the forums from time to time, but I doubt I'll go back anymore. I'm just not in the mood and I currently lack the cash. Also, if the next expansion hits and I still haven't started playing, I'll be in the clear forever. I won't be able to bring myself to buy WotLK if it's obsolete by then.

I like MMO's specifically used to play GW and now am on LOTRO, would probably like Wow but feel that the game has been out so long and has so many expansions that I would be about 3 years behind everyone else.
that combined with Wow's well documented time commitment has always made me steer clear of it

I don't. Played it for about 2-3 years, haven't regretted a second of it, but I don't regret quitting either. I had my fun, nothing lasts forever. Maybe I'll play a few months when the next expansion comes out.

Played WoW for 2.4 years, sure I enjoyed it, but the last moments of it (and its end-game) were getting boring.. The PvP was too pointless for me, and I didn't really enjoy raiding with 40 people (only raided during the original, read; Molten Core), however, I loved instances and fighting alongside a few good friends.

I enjoy Warhammer Online more; more casual, faster levelling, more balanced PvP, and not completely hopeless to go solo as a tank, in my experience..

I don't play WoW. I'm going to be very to the point why. I don't want it to consume my life. I played for about three weeks, and I could see what could be fun about it. Lots of runs(old text-based gamer speak for raids) with friends and things like that, once you reach past level 30. But, really, that game eats people's lives. I watched my room mate play AT WORK for 8 hours a day, then come home and play for another 6 before going to bed, and then say he didn't play a lot. I'm not doing it.... plus I don't like the base graphics;) Again, not to say it isn't pretty(because, yes, there's some gorgeous areas in that game) but the characters and mobs themselves are hideous. I mean, really. With the size of the patches they put out, shouldn't there be some room for model/texture updates?... but I'm ranting. I'll let you all flame me from here;)

I can't think of anything to say that would perfectly sum up my utter confusion now.

A real man's game.
Yeah, you hide behind your bulkheads you 'real' man.

Everyone knows Guild Wars is the real mans MMO, look at all those strippers!
Wait, they're not strippers?

Of course you are not the only one. Bit of a pointless topic I'd say? There are alot of WoW haters and Wow players out there. So yeah, it's asking for trouble.

Sorry ill change my question to just Why do you like WoW because i just cant see it
Just to be sure, I'd put that in my opening post if I were you. Use the edit button in the bottom right corner of the first post and benaeth what you've already written, state that you've changed your question.

On topic: No, I don't play WOW. Mainly because of the cost, but also because it doesn't seem like something I could really get into.

Nope, you're not alone. I'm scared of getting addicted if I play. ;)

But I am going to get the trial at some point. Should be good with some friends I recon.

Oh for fuck's sake I'm getting tired of these stupid topics.

You see this? This is Earth. Roughly 6.177 billion people live here. So no, you're not the only one.

Well, to me, it is xD Let's see, we have the Kill Collectors, the Public Quests, Quests, PvP and mob killing (which to me as a tank is awesome after I finally discovered a 2 handed weapon isn't the way to go at one enemy at a time when I could round up ten or so at the same time and kill them in one fight, using a sword and shield 8D)

EDIT: And as I personally have experienced, it's pathetic trying to go solo against mobs as a defensive tank in WoW <.<

I wasted six months on that stupid game, it just wasn't worth it. I no longer play and never intend to go back to it. The fact is the game doesn't inspire teamwork outside of people working together because they absolutely have to, other than that it's every man for himself I prefer coop team based games when I'm online.

I don't know how people can devote so much time and effort to it to be honest I figure at 6 months I gave the game every opportunity to endear itself to me and it simply didn't. Once you max out a character all you can do is grind mats and make tiny little improvements in your gear that you generally must fight over with everyone else that came along on the raid.

How people can continue with it after leveling their characters to max is completely beyond me, I could find absolutely no reason to continue playing after that. I even stuck around and got some of my tier gear and now all that time and effort is completely wasted and I'll never get it back.

WOW is a deep pit into which your social life, money, and reason fall. The only thing that keeps it going I honestly believe is people not wanting to admit that simple fact.

I used to play WOW but I never liked it. It became so popular at school that most people would talk about it and I hate feeling left out. As soon as all my friends left though, so did I, I got my NE Warrior to level 70 before leaving, thats enough for me.
