Amnesia is easily the scariest game I've ever played. Far and away.

Throughout the whole game I never got a good look at any of the enemies. Not once. Not because the game wouldn't let me, but because I really, really didn't want to. I was too busy running like hell or crouching in a corner. No other game has even come close to having that effect on me.
Single scariest moment was probably in the morgue. I looked into those side rooms, saw the piles of bodies and thought, "Fuck that, I am not going in there." So I closed the door and turned back to... wait... what's that creaking...? Oh Jesus fucking Christ it's trying to get in! Where can I hide? Where can... oh... oh no. Not in there. Oh god it's almost through the door! Hide! But... the corpses, what if they...? Just fucking hide!

And thus I found myself crouched behind a pile of naked corpses, listening to the sounds of something unnatural searching for me in the next room, knowing full well that it could come bursting in at any moment. Awesome stuff.

Uhh most I've been scared playing a game was the first time I played the Bioshock demo, I couldn't finish it. Dead space comes a close second.

Amnesia is the least scary thing in the world. Seriously, I'm the kinda guy who wets himself at horror, but it's just laughably cheesy.

I mean, the water monster? I saw it arriving, and laughed my head off, proceeding to name it "Mr. Splashy" I guess horror works for people in different ways.
Wow. I guess horror really is subjective.

Bioshock had some really good "gotcha" moments. The dentist, the shotgun, the plaster statues. But I never really found it scary.

And Dead Space doesn't even make my list. That game was a lighthearted action romp. Strolled through it with a smile on my face.

But Amnesia? Phew. Bricks were shat in short order.

Siren Blood Curse is the scariest game I've ever played.

I'm pretty sure Amnesia will trump it though, if I ever get around to playing it (the trailer scared the bejeezus outta me).

Okay, I've only played the demo, and it scared the HELL out of me, and I didn't even get that far into it.

But I have a question for people who have finished it, does the screen stay upside down for the entire thing? Because after like 10 minutes, the screen flips, occasionally flickers back to regular view, then back. Then it just stays upside down. It pisses me off.
