Poll: Anime Forum

So, I've noticed that the anime threads here in Off-Topic get a lot of traffic when they pop up, and I was wondering why, if there are what appear to be a large number of anime fans on here, we don't have a separate forum for it. I mean, there's one for Gaming Discussion, but The Escapist even has a team of anime reviewers now, so you'd think that they would make a forum for anime, to separate it from the storm of Off-Topic. I mean, I'm a fairly large anime fan, and I know that it tends to go hand in hand with a love of gaming for a lot of people, so it would make sense to make a forum for it.

So, my question to you, anime fans, is as follows: would you not only want, but USE an anime forum if it were made? I mean, post there regularly so that it doesn't just stagnate and waste resources. If there's enough of a positive response I'll see if I can forward the thread to the staff and talk them into making one.

Well personally I prefer but I watch enough Anime to make a forum an attractive option. And would post fairly regularly I imagine. Just have to make sure it stays on the more "family-friendly" side of Anime, I imagine that's what the Mods will prefer

I'd probably use it as a tool to get back into watching. Yes I know I actually live in Japan but I work all the time so I'd never catch a show twice and can't be bothered to buy a TV...sue me.

Anime is not something to be celebrated or shared. It is to be watched in a dark room and used to troll forums that have gone past the point of no return.

It would be okay if it was HEAVILY moderated.

Well, that'd be a given, it's be under the same rules and everything of The Escapist forums as they are now. Just a separate place for the threads to go and whatnot.

Just go to /a/. It's the only sane reason somebody would go to that site.

The point would be to get a forum for anime discussion with the Escapist community. Say what you will positively or negatively about 4chan, it's still an image board, not really a discussion board.

I'd use it, probably quite a lot, and not just for posting, since its always good to see what other people think are good animes and then watching them.

I just think there'd be a big influx of trolls, unfortunately, and people simply posting to say "I Hate Anime", so it'd need a constant watch I think.

I'd use it more than I used Gaming anyways, which is a lot. I can imagine it would work and expanding the horizons of the Escapist from just gaming would be great. Obviously we'd have to try and keep gore-fest animes like Elfen Lied to a minimum when it comes to discussion though but I think this would be a good idea.

Well, you could say the same thing about the gaming discussion board, you'd think there'd be plenty of people saying "Games are 4 nurds" and stuff like that, but after the first handful get banned people start to think twice.

I would probably use it. It would definately be a better feature for me than gaming discussion, which I very rarely enter nowadays. It would at least be a good feature for the forums I think.
