So recently, I've found myself particularly drawn to several weapon sets in in Skyrim due to their looks. I've always loved Dwarven weapons - they have all the bling of weapons made of gold due to that wonderful Dwarven metal, and they also look practical and to-the-point (no pun intended). The warhammer in particular looks badass.

I also really like Steel - weapons from there have cool patterning all over them (particularly the War Axe) without looking overly flashy or ineffective. Too bad it's one of the weaker weapon sets (though you also get Skyforge Steel, which is much more powerful and looks the same).

Finally, there's Glass, which just looks ridiculously pretty and elegant. "An elegant weapon from a more civilized age", indeed.

So guys, what's your favourite? I haven't talked about armour much, because I don't pay much attention to it - but feel free to mention that, too. Sadly, there was no room for an "other" option on the poll, so if you like the mini-sets such as Falmer or Imperial just say so in the thread.

I ended up going with the Thieves Guild armour, rounded out by a turban and various leather bits, all smithed and enchanted to high heaven. It looks like something that a person might actually wear.

The other stuff all looks like an over-designed and overly elaborate mess, especially the Deadric set.

Man, I wish "fantasy" didn't always end up meaning "ridiculous medieval"... grumble grumble etc etc.

Well, my favourite is not on the list: I only recently had to give up the leather armour to use something more appropriate for my lvl. I like it "realistic" - the less Fantasy-Bling, the better. (Right now it is Elven Armour with Leather Boots of Hauling;)

Well, the Daedric stuff is justifiable IMO, considering it's made by demons with too much time on their hands.

Well, those demons must spend a lot of their time tripping over and getting stuck in door frames.

Presumably they blow up doorframes rather than lower themselves to using such a pathetic mortal invention.

Steel, the set with the pauldrons. It just suits my character and I haven't changed it since. My High Elf Spellsword wears a set of (modded) heavy gilded elven and the rest don't wear any armour. My Breton cryomancer is clad in tweaked Arch-Mage Robes and my bandit thief dresses in everyday clothes.

Of all of them my Nord warrior in his steel is probably my favourite.

Ebony strikes me as the most practical of the high level lot, but I like Orcish loot the most, because it just screams "WEAPONS, FUCK YEAH!".
Orcish smiths just don't care about logic and reasonning, they'll put blades on the weapon's handguard, just so they can punch better while holding a weapon. They'll put curves into the blades just to do more carnage while stabbing.
And Orcish armor? Oh yeah! A blend of Eastern and Western style armor. Overlapping plates, with leather under, and fur under that, just to keep cozy and look absolutely bitchin'. Also, because it's Orcish, spikes on the knees, shoulders and even feet.

Since Dragonbone isn't on there I'll have to say Ebony. I have not seen Daedric, though. Besides a sexy mod of it. Which I'm totally gonna use.

Without the helmet, ebony armor is my favorite in aesthetics. Deadric looks cool but just too cool....

By the way, on my evil Kahjiit, I have him wearing an adept hood with the ebony armor, it looks so badass.

As I usually play a character focusing on stealth, I've usually got a combination of the Thieves Guild armor and the Dark Brotherhood armor. Specifically the Dark Brotherhood boots and gloves. With the Thieves Guild armor and hood. Looks kinda cool, but I mainly use it for practicality.

Now for the one that I wear for aesthetics. If the character I'm playing as is male, full-on Ebony. If the character I'm playing as is female, fur armor. As I usually play as a male character, I almost always end up with a full set of Ebony armor before I even fight the first dragon.

TL;DR: Ebony.

Dwarven.

Your shoulders span like 2 full meters. Insane. You look like a fucking DEMIGOD in that armor. And the helmet looks awesome too. Not to mention it looks even better with this mod...

Yes. Dwarven with this mod, Daedric without.
My latest character is actually a bosmer archer stealthing around, in Dwarven armour. It is glorious.

I like a lot of the low level armours but don't like most of the high level ones. They look over designed and don't really match the rest of the game IMO.
For heavy armour just normal Steel. Ebony looks good for male characters (tho still looks random in the setting) but I don?t like how they moulded it to female characters boobs, it looks weird.
For light amour, thieves guild leather.
Weapons I've not really looked at to pick a favourite.

You know, it is not as strong as the others, but Steel Plate wins the sexiest armor award in my book.
