I refuse to pay money for what amounts to asking the Gamefaqs boards for their favorite games.
Granted if Escapist put out a magazine in print I'd be all over that

Retro Gamer, The only magazine in existence dedicated to Retro gaming (UK only).

It is a bit pricey though, so i don't always buy it. Though I have two huge retro gamer volumes including two Retro gamer hardware books detailing nearly every single retro gaming console (even obscure ones such as the Atari Jaguar), about it's history, and what are the best games available, all in amazing detail.

I do buy Games tm every month and will often buy some of the cheaper mags for something to read, but the only Official mag I buy is the Playstation mag. OXM is a piss poor advertising broucher that only seems to discuss what games are coming out for the system with the odd 'throwaway' article. OPSM varies a lot with articles and is well written.

But £6 for a mag when all it gives you is demos you can DL is taking the piss these days.
I do love to read, though. I have cut down a lot as I found I was just reading the same articles about the same games across many mags.
Crazy.

I pick up my issue of PSM3 every month. Same as I've been doing for the past 3 years or so.....I'm starting to run out of space to keep them all.

Games Tm and Gamesmaster are the only two multiformat magazines worth reading.

Edge can go burn in the fieriest depths of hell.

I still have my subscription to Game Informer, but that's always been secondary to the Gamestop membership. I wouldn't just do the subscription itself. I flip through each issue briefly the day they arrive, then I never look at it again.
...Are you me? D:

Because I donate them to my school

Like others have said I have Game Informer only because it was included in the Edge Card deal. Otherwise I probably wouldn't have a subscription.

I used to buy at least one games magazine a month (have had subscriptions from time to time). I was a subscriber to Total Film for a long time too. Nowadays I don't read any magazines, they're far too expensive, have less content than they used to and its far more efficient (and free) to use the internet instead. I do recognise that a lot of info on the news sites is gathered from print magazines in the first place but that'll change when they eventually die.

EGM coming back was really cool, but there really isn't any use for them anymore. While I will be the first to say that having a physical copy of something is 1000x better than having a digital download; one website can give you all of the info that one $8 magazine can give you.

I've never paid money for them, as there is a free magazine that is given out at my local game store which is quite good. But nowadays I simply rely on the internet, because why shouldn't I? It's free, convenient and better.
