This game does not look like a huge upgrade to the original Starcraft. But hey I don't want to cut down PC gamers too much they only get like one or two major releases a year.

It's an RTS. You weren't seriously expecting a decent storyline... were you?
Ever played Warcraft 3?
Yes.

It was an RTS. With a crappy storyline.
Taste and subjectivity (mostly) aside, Warcraft 3's story was elaborate, airtight, paced, and involved a variety of characters with personality and significant development. You can't dismiss that as crappy just because you didn't like it. It's by default a lot better than most of what you find in gaming, and I wasn't even a huge fan.

Where in SCI does it say that the Xel'Naga can't procreate? If I remember correctly, they're hardly mentioned.
http://starcraft.wikia.com/wiki/Xel%27naga
Probably somewhere in the manual, god I loved that manual... awesome concept art.
There was no information given about Xel'Naga procreation in the manual for the original game - if that's canonical information it's background they only just now introduced. They did hint that something else was going on in that Brood Wars bonus mission, but all the elaboration on the Xel'Naga covered was that they went around creating/elevating life for reasons that were never explained in detail. Apparently they might be explaining that now?

I find it funny that the huge PC title that has taken forever to come out is only a third complete...you only get to play as the humans....why?
This is a uninformed comment. It's definitely a full game.
Was I incorrect or is the single player campaign only the human's story? Or can you play as the other races in single player?
No, you're right about that, just under the assumption this isn't a full game regardless. It's three full sized games, not one broken up.

I find it pretty silly as people are complaining about the terran campaign, the only campaign of the game and comparing it to a game from 1998 and saying it and it's expansion pack was better then the current story. DUH they were 2 games with 6 campaigns.

I for one feel that the campaign is very well made, the story might be a bit touch and go, but they had to put something in as filler for the game between all the big events. I kind of like it that you are supposedly playing as Raynor when you're moving units around? "Hey Raynor You better catch up!"

As i said earlier the previous Starcraft story wasn't excactly solid gold, the expansion pack brood wars just seemed to meander around The Earth Defense Directorate showing up and getting their asses kicked. Which well works ok, but doesn't really bring much to the plot.

So all the people here stating they know much about Starcraft story is obviously using nostalgic puppy eyes attuned to 2d graphics. Starcraft 2 with it's Terran campaign is, fine even Above most RTS's in story and interactiveness. I won't start with compairing to supreme commander(the whole storyline is just optional sillyness) and Command and conquers Jacked up Aliens and massive in-continuity of storyline. (Kane is dead, OH hes alive, Oh hes dead Again, NO hes ALIVE! And now wants to be spacepopelololo). Woops i already did.

Well the moral of this post is, there's no pleasing nostalgia.
