Way to load the poll, OP. Truly anybody who is not tired of the Big Three must HATE all other races!

How about "No, I am not tired of them but neither am I adverse to more diversity"?
Yeah I concur. Totally unfair poll.

Absolutely. They should make a RPG where you play "the other side", for example Orc, Goblin, Kobold.

Or what would be really awesome, a RPG where you play as a dragon and like any proper dragon you sleep a long time between each chapter. So long that each chapter represents a different "age" of humanity (stone age, classic, mediaeval, renaissance and modern) and each age changing slightly depending on your choices in the previous one.

That dragon idea would rock.

I approve..

I felt there was some diversity in Morrowing and Oblivion. Argonian was my second most played race, next to Dunmer. I have a character for every race but Orc right now. Even with the race selection there, I still think there needs to be more variation. I liked that Khajit and Argonians weren't so humanoid.

If they are going to put them in they might as well add a few more.

So normally I would just say no, not really. I have not grown tired of human/elf/dwarf choices, though I wish lizard races were more frequent.

Then there was this...

Dragonborn

And
Kenku

Those are awesome. Though I think at least human or elf (skinny nature humans) should always be a choice, since a lot of people like to play as something similar to what they are.

eh I don't mind um I wish there was more variety in the way they were portrayed. dragon age was a limp in the right direction, normally the dwarfs are just kinda mountain folk they have like a king everyone loves but beyond that they are all kinda equal what but in dragon not only are they fleshed out they are very interesting atleast to me,(woot for dwarf nobel warrior)

Humans, Elves, and Dwarves are considered the 'BIG THREE' thanks in big part to J.R.R. Tolkien and LotR, which more or less invented fantasy fiction. If you're going to have a game in a fantasy setting (doesn't have to be an RPG), there's a good chance you'll be seeing Elves and Dwarves.

As for OPs complaint, the only RPG I can think of that limited playable races to those three is Dragon Age. Everything else gives me options like Half-Elves, Orcs, Halflings, Gnomes, Lizard People...

Istaria, formerly known as Horizons let's you play as a Dragon among other races. I always thought that to be an exellent idea, unfortunately the game is a pretty boring standard mmorpg apart from that. Which is probably the reason why almost noone plays it.

So, yeah I'm very tired of the standard races. Actually I'm also tired of humanoid characters. Why does everyone have to be a biped? And why do I always have to play as one?

I'm a bit tired of the big three, though I'm more tired of racial class limitations.
I have no problem playing as a human as it is the only race I use for any game at least once, though I don't care much for dwarves.

Eh, not really. I would like to see some more variety, but having some old familiar races is always nice.

How come i can't play as a Lizard man or a walking talking skeleton or Half human half spider creature?

Christ, not counting World of Warcarft (which i don't play) when was the last game that let you play as a Dark Elf? Come on it's not even that big of a stretch, its just an elf with a tan!

I mean Mass Effect comes out with all these cool races but then Dragon Age comes out and its like all the creatvity must have been used up because all i see is Elf, Human, Dwarf, Big guy that looks like an elf...oh yeah and i think if you buy the DLC you can play as a Golem.

I always play as human. I really don't think playing as different races adds to the game and I don't think the character creator adds to the game either. Just make me a human male (cause that's what I am) and let me play.
For some reason that's giving me an idea for a game where you start out with the standard pick and choose, and then at the end of the tutorial you're transformed into a female elf, and spend the rest of the game trying to get back to who you were.
